Well, this is interesting. Scrapped in favor of a six story building:

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Too bad to see another store close, but I'm not surprised as Gap has been struggling for awhile now. I was just in Denver and noticed Uniqlo has opened a store on 16th Street Mall (Pavilions). It would be nice to see them in the Gap space or elsewhere downtown. BTW, 16th Street Mall has come a long ...

21 and 30 stories. Are there any churches, mosques or synagogues that we have to worry about?

Re: Nye's Redevelopment - 100 block of E Hennepin Avenue
Did parishioners of St. Olaf freak out when the Piper Jaffray tower (now Campbell Mithun) was proposed? That tower might be in closer proximity to St Olaf than the new Nye's development is to Lourdes.

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
We don't even know a height yet. But height shouldn't constitute whether it's *WORD NOT FOUND* or not. I used to think that sometimes too. This could be the start of a new gateway path to the river. Also isn't it already *WORD NOT FOUND*? We're arguing about it being so, so it must be a bit of an i...

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Perhaps some of you should read the RFP again: http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www/groups/public/@cped/documents/webcontent/wcms1p-132418.pdf The City’s development goals for the property include *WORD NOT FOUND* high quality designed new construction of a structure(s) of not fewer than 20 active floo...

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Did you happen to notice those are my words in the photo? Sure, anyone can post photos, but when you are posting them at the expense of others or just to be a d*ck, it's uncalled for - don't ya think?. If I were to act this way, it wouldn't be tolerated. I bitched about this project (and no, it wasn...

So clever of you Nick. Can I please become a mod too? There is nothing I want more than to exercise my power on a tiny, development board.

Well that's not true, you've been posting the same thing in this thread since October (page 3) and every few pages since. Moving on... I know you are the moderator, but there is no reason to be an a-hole. Before today the last time I posted in this thread was in December 2014, which is well beyond ...

Hah. Sorry, but I don't spend that much time here.Because it's a broken record if you look at the past maybe 5-8 pages.

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
I see my previous post was deleted about the city wanting a quality project for this site. So this site doesn't tolerate one being critical of proposals and / or the city?

http://www.gallup.com/poll/182051/san-francisco-metro-area-ranks-highest-lgbt-percentage.aspx I've got to say...I was quite surprised when I saw how...um..."un-gay" our metro is compared to a lot of other places. We're really far down there. Minneapolis is pretty regularly cited as an LGB...

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image
I'm a recruiter within the Twin Cities tech sector and I've recruited for both agency as well as in-house. Twin Cities companies are facing a number of issues when it comes to attracting and keeping talent ... Target has had to set up tech shop elsewhere (Cailifornia) because it can’t find the tale...

Again, I didn't state anything about Target. Fine. Different, related question more specifically to do with what you said. http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2015/02/mark-dayton-minnesota-governor-profile-scott-walker The disaster Dayton's GOP rivals predicted never happened. Two years after the t...

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image
What should Minneapolis have done differently to keep Target from restructuring and laying off thousands of employees? Typical It's a valid question. I don't think the negligible amount of time anyone in local government has spend pushing Midwest vs North is really to blame for... anything ....

Where did I state anything about Target? The loss of headquarters, jobs, and talent has been an ongoing issue here for a number of years now.Typical? Really, what should Minneapolis have done to prevent Target from making bad business decisions?

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image
Perhaps Minneapolis officials and locals should start worrying more about keeping corporations and talent here than if whether or not we should be considered something other than Midwestern. There are companies like Amazon recruiting local talent left and right and locals are worried about what we s...

So the source of many downtown development rumors, Ryan, has been found on LinkedIn. I'll just post the link and let everyone make their own assumptions: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/ryan-nelson/b/382/154 ... Oh god that's cringeworthy. Well at least the drama is getting juicy now. I found his Link...
