Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)

Still, 11 stories means concrete and not stick, right? Yep! A little tired of seeing all the stick construction, as I'm sure everyone is. If they pick the materials right (it looks like they're shooting for a nod to the University's building choices) this could look really nice. Either way, the siz...

Not too bad looking. It's got a pool. It's also going to take up the ENTIRE block behind the Holiday.

They've started on this. Equipment and a trailer are on site, and it looks like they've started taking out the old windows.

Re: Target Campus- Brooklyn Park

Also, Brooklyn Park is on drugs: http://www.startribune.com/local/north/160780425.html?refer=y How so? We're likely going to build an LRT out there, so shouldn't there be more development there? I was mostly referring to the "Third Downtown" rhetoric. Development sure, but that's not gonn...

Re: Target Campus- Brooklyn Park

Some old articles on this, but worth a look nonetheless, This has a rendering of one of the two buildings. It makes me laugh a little that the architect went to extra trouble to make the building look smaller: http://post.mnsun.com/2012/05/brooklyn-park-approves-target-development/ Site Plans: http:...

Re: Handicraft Building Apartments

How recently was that project page updated? It's still including the Nicollet Mall parcels that were purchased by Target and turned into their employee lounge. Unless they're working with Target on something we don't know about, which seems unlikely given what we know of Target's plans.

http://finance-commerce.com/2012/12/hot-twin-cities-apartment-market-shows-signs-of-cooling-off/ Another good free article from F&C. Nothing Earth-shattering, but some nice reading. It's a little amusing how after that very painful real estate bubble bursting a few years ago, developers are bein...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

According to this Minnpost Article Two full blocks might become parks... (implying bye bye Strib building... :( ) but that implies the 1mil square feet could be on two blocks including a lot of parking and retail and some residential... Personally I'd prefer to see partial blocks of park, like two ...

This one's up to the third story now. Stick after the first floor, of course. This is already doing a great job of psychologically cutting into the parking lot ocean though.

Re: Cossetta's Alimentari

While it did turn out better looking than the renderings appeared, this structure is still very ill-proportioned and unsure of itself. The large ground level arches suggest supports for a massive structure that isn't there, the brick doesn't match (in an unflattering way) and this building has so ma...

Re: Gateway Park

Here's how this plan needs to work: -Disregard all plans for a park on the block between Nicollet-Marquette-3rd-4th. The city can sell this block to a developer to raise money for the park. -Close Nicollet completely between 3rd and Washington, connecting the "Library Park" to Cancer Survi...
