Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
For what its worth this is what I wrote to my senator today. Feel free to use for yours and edit however you like. Dear Senator Cohen, I am a constituent of yours in the Highland Park neighborhood of Saint Paul. This morning I have read through the bonding proposal (2016 Capital Investment - SF 2839...

Re: East Metro Rail Capacity Study
I don't know if I am missing anything in the full list of projects, but transit is pretty much non-existent in the governor's bonding proposal.

Re: Gold Line (Gateway Corridor BRT)
Wow. Just wow. Really? This thing is going to meander along frontage roads. Outside of 494/694 there nothing to support about this 'line'. It could be an aBRT and cut off at a logical point. Again too many planners playing SIM city gives a bad plan.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
It's difficult to see how this will move forward. Politically, I think the cost is now beyond what would be acceptable and any friends of this project, especially the lukewarm ones, may melt away. The very Byzantine and lengthy review process is disincentive enough, it would be a huge loss for trans...

Duval discusses how he makes it work. http://m.startribune.com/local/minneapolis/288099651.html?section=/ Key point, the tower isn't offices. Mostly residential for the predicted huge need. The offices will be in the podium. He sounds like a bit of a dreamer, but I am guessing there are a fair amou...

Re: Hamline Station - (1333 University Avenue)
The streetscape here is going to be dramatically changed by this project and the one down at Griggs. Does anyone know if Target owns the property across the street from this one? It seems like that is an asset they would be willing to sell off at some point as it is just two empty parking lots far a...

Re: Rush Line Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)
Terminating the line at Maplewood Mall might not be a bad idea. You would have this line capped by DT St. Paul and the hospital and the mall at the other end. I wonder if it would be possible to run it up Payne, cross over to Arcade/61, North Side of Beam Ave by the hospital, transit center. You cou...

Former funeral home on Snelling near intersection of Highland Parkway. Senior apartments 4 story. Funeral home building is now gone and it looks like they are in a hurry to put this on up judging by the giant hole in the ground

It will also to annoy you that Woodbury has a "City Centre" and a "City Walk" in a similar pavement to building ratio as this project. Although City Walk has apartments and a little less pavement

Re: Roads that didn't get built outstate
It seems that outstate corridors get upgraded to four lanes in piece- meal segments. I wonder if a better solution would be 'super-2s' in these areas with passing lanes every 10-15 miles. This way you don't overbuild roads that don't have the traffic volume on them to necessitate a full four lanes b...

Re: State Farm Corporate Campus redevelopment - Woodbury
As a child of the 'Wood-hood' I will have to say that I am glad this land will be used in some way and people will be working here as the building has been vacant almost more time than it was occupied. That said the urbanist in me cringes at the 'asphalt acres' concept. The development pattern here ...

I forget about CTIB money but can it be used for express bus facilities? Let's face it this project is about keeping Wash. Co in CTIB. Red Rock does not seem to be moving along too quickly either. Re: Gateway Corridor
Can we orange line this? AKA freeway BRT? In a perfect world we should be able to connect the burbs to the network otherwise let's use this money to aBRT a-line to z-line where it will be used. Otherwise I have to agree with the sentiment "forget it jake it's Chinatown"
