Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
I know this is really confusing, so maybe take it in small parts and feel free to use a dictionary. We hear 'there was no promise.' Again and again, really. Then we heard, that at the time, it was said rail couldn't be rerouted through St Loius Park. It was 'impossible.'. So here's where it gets rea...

Re: Transit News and Happenings
Good way to reduce ridership and get people back into cars ride a connecting busses for a few blocks each, then end up paying way more per day.

Re: Snelling BRT/enhanced bus
I know on local routes there are some stops that are always busy (campus stops for the 2, for example) whereas some aren't that busy (most other stops on the 2). Maybe put fareboxes on all buses, and put TVMs at the busiest stations. This seems like a complete no-brainer to me - I don't understand ...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Midtown is to turn south and use a bus barn. It could serve stops past Wedt lake. Will missing the Fed timetable re-cock the DEIS- especially if tunnel wasn't included? Alternatives analysis? Chance they'd study routing LRT thru density and making better use of tunnels, so there's something in this ...

Wait til there's a good, old fashioned train-bus smash-up.
By then the decision makers will have moved on to their nifty VP positions at Seimens.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Perhaps this is the beginning of it withering on the vine. Perhaps those powerful people are paying lip service to the line while 'tabling it for study' sure to allow it to fade. I live closer than anyone, I'm sure, to the proposed 21st station. I'd never use it; supsequent Mpls bound stops make the...

I'm sure I'm not understanding- vehicles are going to also drive the rails?
Is there earthly precident for a bus driving down a dedicated, operational track?

Re: Hennepin Avenue
This, of course, makes the Southwest scenario even more absurd and frustrating, but that's a different topic. We do have one who said Uptown transit is excellent. Need I quote? I dont think tunneling through the woods specifically to avoid Uptown / South is a different subject at all. I'm not sure ...

Do the Siberian Yaks turn a profit?
Interesting article says they will need a transport system after their expansion.
They wouldn't?

Re: Hennepin Avenue
I continue to believe some on UrbanMSP view the issue as a 1:1 trainset that will now have cars zipping up and down Hennepin too, but not stopping. The actual cars actually have people in them, and those people like to stop at the businesses along Hennepin (perhaps when they're already commuting- It...

Too bad the system couldn't be installed in a circulator where it would be of good use; Rosedale to Har-Mar or a compact downtown.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
I worry that although we get some, very good, information, many times it's combined with tainted comments. I go back and see all the 'bad actors' referenced; first anyone who is against the project, as they're 'Racist' t's not that an Uptown alignment for SW LRT that doesn't make sense, it's the SW ...

Im sure youre both aware thats not what anyone said. Assuming the poor are incapable of using smart cards is far more condescending than anything I wrote. -1 Just not OK with turning public transit into a line for elites; denying rides to a person that has the fare but not in the magic combination. ...

Re: Snelling BRT/enhanced bus
Again it fits urbanMSP subset that just wants transit to look at, it's not necessary for anyone to actually (letalone people that depend on transit) actually ride the busses.
So much could be done (example: exit door exits) to improve efficiency at low or no cost claiming 'efficiency' isn't credible.

Re: Snelling BRT/enhanced bus
Brilliant. No GoTo Card = wait for the local bus that takes cash. At least you'll have a nice heated station at which to wait. We need to stop coddling people.
Busses (or I'm sorry, BRT) are just like trains except cheaper, except you can't ride them because you can't buy a ticket.
