Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Sounds like they’re going to start popping some pedestrian refuges in the middle of Washington Avenue. I thought this was a pretty good example of communication:

Re: Transit Crime
I was on the train last week and people were doing the crackhouse thing, and cops in fact did get on, they told those people to get off, the cops stayed on the train, and I can say with reasonable confidence that they just got on the next train. I was similarly on a crackhouse train on Monday. Schoo...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Ooh, good find. With the operator shortage, it would sure be nice if they could get more than one route per year through the Better Bus Routes program. And I'm not just saying that because the 11 is my route and I want it to be improved before 2026. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve see...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
One possibility is to arrest the people who are smoking crack on the train. Ten years ago, people were not smoking crack on the train in the middle of the day, due to the enforcement of rules regarding smoking crack on the train. Sometime after that, people (?) decided that we should allow people to...

Yes, which is why it’s frustrating to see people with email jobs denying that conditions on the train have deteriorated badly.

Re: 2023-24 Minnesota Legislature
Other than infrastructure, a lot of the things that seem like good ideas to spend money on might not work out great in practice with 2% unemployment. Does anyone have any idea if there are a bunch of surprises in Northern Lights Express? Is it half of it through a swamp no one could have known about...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
Doesn't the City own the giant parking ramp under the building? County property records still list MCDA as the owner of the property. Apparently the whole property, but some of the downtown parcels are weird. https://gis.hennepin.us/Property?C=478416.1360929212,4979935.917830835&L=8&T=road&a...

Re: Uptown-LynLake-Wedge - News & General Topics
Not breaking news, but pretty crazy how completely dead Lake and Hennepin was last night on what’s generally one of the better drinking nights of the year. A surreal scene. There are half a million people in this city and about 50 of them appeared to be at the remaining three Uptown bars. Y’xll need...

What percentage of voters do you think could name their county commissioner? 10%? No more offices people vote for based on how the name sounds please.

Re: Root District - Farmers Market / Royalston Station
I wonder long those will stick around? Some are condos, but not outside the realm of possibility someone might buy one or two of the apartment buildings and tear them down to build a larger building. It's not even the building heights, some of those buildings look to be like 50 units on a half block...
