Re: Root District - Farmers Market / Royalston Station
It would be hilarious (and dumb as shit) if we end up with basketball in the burbs and freaking USbank stadium downtown. An all-time bungle.

YesIs the Shapiro building the old Swedish hospital?but the Shapiro building could possibly be converted to housing or hotel. I'd guess the privately-owned Life Sciences building at 700 10th Ave S will remain in place.

Re: Nicollet Ave / Eat Street - Whittier, Stevens, Loring Park
Are you from some sort of alternate reality? lol. Good to see they are going with the best of the proposed layouts. As an anti car head I don't mind the street being open to car traffic. I think in this city car traffic is a reality, and the focus should not be on car-free zones rather on calming t...

Re: Future Cars: Electric and Autonomous Vehicles
They probably don't look at it like this but electric is a million times better for doomsday crowd. You can charge it with a simple solar panel setup. Fuel goes bad, and runs out.

Re: Future Cars: Electric and Autonomous Vehicles
ehh on that. Obviously some of these design decisions are bad, but I think the design is a mixed bag compared to other trucks. Not sure what the result will be but it easily could be safer for pedestrians compared to other big ass trucks. -significantly lower and sloping hood line which should help ...

Re: Nicollet-Lake - greater Kmart area
The diagonal path option is the obvious winner, its the only choice that creates spaces remotely interesting/inviting.

Also, as an aside, this comment is exactly wrong in my opinion. The same kids who score poorly on testing are the same kids who cost more money to educate.(especially so given student performance in MPS).

Re: MPS Comprehensive District Design
The per pupil costs are always just general fund expenditures. This is true across the board... The $976 million for MPS includes everything-- capital projects fund, debt service fund, food service, etc. So yeah MPS is spending more than other districts, but not nearly to the extent that's being imp...

who's "we"?Or else we could fund the police enough that they can make traffic violations illegal again and go back up to 90,000 traffic stops a year.

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT
I’d choose the east of 94 alignment and 21st Ave transitway options. There’s so much more development potential between 94 and the river than along that particular stretch of Lyndale, not to mention serving a higher number of jobs that exist today. That and the neighborhoods along Lyndale not wanti...
