Re: Calhoun Towers - 3430 List Place (295' - 24 stories)
A ton of trees have been cut down and cleared out on the north side of the site. I have no idea if it's for light rail construction or not, but it's where the first phase would go, so here's hoping. The Southwest LRT Updates listed this for last week: Minneapolis Chowen Avenue to Lake Street For th...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
I asked and was told the northern bridge is to be "re-aligned and rebuilt to city requirements" and will stay as the cedar lake trail. The freight rail re-alignment means the bridge to the south will also go. A new bridge will be built there and then to the south of that another bridge for...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Can someone explain why the northern bridge over Louisiana had to be demoed? That's where the freight rail will go. Why do any of those bridges need to be touched? The platform is going to be quite a bit south of there. I don’t know the exact answer to this and have been wondering myself. Maybe it ...

Re: Calhoun Towers - 3430 List Place (2x 281' - 24 stories)
I always felt the 2 new tower plan was a bit over ambitious. I'm really not a fan of these little buildings surrounding the towers. But yes, I agree with a previous poster.. Lets start already!!

Re: West Lake Street Hotel- 3012 Excelsior Blvd (8 stories, 100')
Yeah, I don't think there was ever a set plan for it to close. Maybe they are just sick of people asking? Side note, this BP is owned by the same people that own the BP a little further down Excelsior. 2 of the most overpriced gas stations in the twin cities when it comes to anything inside.

Canvas Apts - 2301 California St NE
While Bunge silos have demolition going on right now, the silos at 2401 California St NE (not exact address) are also coming down at this moment. I haven't heard any plans for this property?

Re: Sons of Norway block redevelopment - 1455 Lake St W
Although I have read some of the previous posts, I'm still not completely sure on the status of this property.
However, I do know that there appears to be a new CBRE "Now Available" sign up on the building. This seems to conflict with the previously announced plans..?

I've seen the new highway signage I posted previously now spread to other buildings. Is this the new standard?

Re: Calhoun Towers - 3430 List Place (2x 269' - 22 stories)
Finally, the name "Calhoun Towers" will actually be appropriate. It's been named Calhoun Towers since they built the current tower in the early 60s. Originally there was supposed to be a 30 story and then changed to a 37 story but the plan was canceled and just one got built.

Re: City Club Apartments - 1000 Marquette Ave (Handicraft Building)
This morning (or late last night) they began removing the upper windows. I believe there is a moratorium on any demolition before the Super Bowl so it looks like the visitors to the Hilton are either going to view a boarded up building or a windowless one.

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
I also thought for sure they would at least replace the signage that still shows the Metrodome before the super bowl but this doesn't appear to be the case either. At the minimum, the signage around the Hilton still has the Metrodome on it.

Ahh, okay. I missed a few posts. Got it.^ Referring to this pedestrian connection to to W River Road at 7th Street.
I agree that it would be nice, but highest priority? There is a pedestrian connection at 7th.

Re: Opus North Loop Apartments on W river parkway
Tunnel is here: https://goo.gl/maps/ytxX8FmewDE2 That's well outside of the project in question, unless I am mis-reading something? There is of course Bassetts Creek that runs near there, but not through the project site and isn't private. So assuming there is something else that is being referred ...
