Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018
Does anyone have an idea when/if the Star Tribune will drop a poll? At this point I would probably vote for whomever was ahead between Walz/Murphy in order to deny Swanson.

Re: 2700 University Avenue Development
Not in this building, but somewhat relevant is that the Dunn Bros. in the adjacent Metro Lofts building — which has been there for at least a decade and is adjacent to the green line station — just closed. So that leaves two empty retail bays in Metro Lofts. Hodges Bend is going to need some good l...

The sidewalk in question (on the south side of the parkway) actually ends before it can reach 13th avenue. Anyone using this sidewalk would be stranded mid-block. A new driveway+raised crosswalk would be an upgrade overall considering that this is not currently a reasonable route for anyone.

Heartening to see the add-on (Hamline, Victoria, Western) Green Line stations continuing to post solid to great ridership.

+2 large influxes of office workers in the near future (Hennepin County consolidating into the old Thrivent building and Minneapolis consolidating into the new building). The demand for services in this area is just going to keep increasing.

The ramp/apartments project on the half-block has apparently broken ground:

This area of a few blocks is set to absorb over 800 housing units in the next year or so, pretty cool. Hopefully this means even more neighborhood-oriented businesses will follow.

Yes, surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but (if I'm reading correctly) the condo component has increased to 50 units. They also now describe a potential scenario where both the hotel and condos components are replaced with apartments if the hotel is "deemed unfeasible".

Re: US Congress and MN House Elections 2018
I've got no love for Swanson, but it was clearly Ellison's bizarre decision to walk away from being a Representative to pursue the AG position that really caused the chaos. Someone clearly had to get in. Matt Pelikan can't be the de-facto nominee. Not seeing how Ellison's decision is bizarre in any...

Yep, this feels like preparation for finally accepting a bid and getting construction moving. Original bid target was probably ~100 million lower, but that just doesn't seem attainable in the current construction climate.

No, they actually recommend denial of "reguiding" the future land use from Industrial to Transitional Industrial. I really don't know what to make of this. Apparently the North Loop is intended to have an extremely stark cut-off between the neighborhood and pure industrial? The portion of ...

If you're in the South/East Metro and care about the transportation funding picture (among other things), I would suggest looking into it.
