DTE: Wells Fargo, Radisson Red, Edition Apts & Millwright Building
Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
What makes you so sure it's not parking? That could have a separate elevator serving it, so the main course could skip it.
Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
Not likely, as there is a floor of office below this, and no indications of a ramp. Also. I dont believe the plans called for any sort of parking. I think all the parking is to be in the new ramp. What makes you so sure it's not parking? That could have a separate elevator serving it, so the main course could skip it.
Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
Wrong type of flooring for parking. That would have been post tension concrete and not a metal floor at the base. What makes you so sure it's not parking? That could have a separate elevator serving it, so the main course could skip it.

Since I got sucked into old railroad pics as well heres downtown east in 1972:

Love seeing the Great Northern Train Station in the lower right of that second photo. I didn't realize that it went right up to the river.
Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
Looks like 35W through downtown is under construction in that first photo.
That sea of parking was already 10 years old. If you're not familiar with the Urban Renewal movement of the 60's, I suggest you do a bit of research and prepare to be sad.and the sea of parking was still there back then as well!

The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

After shooting out of the ground this project seems to have slowed down a lot. Thought they would be on level 3 by now and they still have a lot of the second level to complete. Maybe the holiday killed productivity?

Yes, because construction is linear and moves at a constant rate.

That is one very fancy piece of fiction right there. Good luck with that many tree planted on that plaza with it being concrete pavers or slabs. There will not be much for grass. Are they tearing the building down that houses the the outdoor restrooms and maintenance facility? The park is even too generous with the trees if the MFSC wants to have all of these event is would trample the tree roots.Holy jamoly batman! I'm pretty sure that's an early render before a lot of changes... And a lot of wishful thinking. That is one very fancy piece of fiction right there. Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
I was more commenting on the zoom capability for looking at details of the wells fargo buildings
Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
The zoom is cool, but doing that makes me wonder are the apartment on the 4th street only facing the street with the halls next to the office building? If not, I'm sure I'd not want to wake up to having someone looking in my apartment from the office building across a short distance.
Is there separation of the apartment buildings both on the 3rd and 4th street side of the office towers. if so, how much is there?

Just noticed there's a residential building on 5th between park and Chicago (left side of the picture). I don't recall hearing any plans for that block.

I said something about that soon after these renderings became originally surfaced and no one said anything. .....don't want to block the view now....Holy jamoly batman! Just found the most high res zoomable picture of the yard and wells fargo buildings... very cool
