I love how this side of town has been completely transformed with just two projects. Now we just need someone to come up with an incredible proposal for the half block of surface parking on Hennepin between 1st and 2nd.

Speaking of "between 1st and 2nd," a really cool skinny project (hyperbole alert!) needs to happen on the other side of that same block fronting 1st Ave. And if it cleverly wraps around the tiny old building on the corner, even better.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

I'm digging the wall effect being created by these developments even if I wish the street frontage of 222 was better.

it's looking good, but even better, it's blocking off sight lines through acres of surface parking, and that's exciting

^^^I can't tell from the photo but I hope they avoid installing already warped metal paneling on the side of this apartment building like so many have done. The infill with these apartment projects is great, yet the workmanship and craftsmanship in the construction process leaves much to be desired at times. Some of these projects are going to deteriorate rapidly. Hope this isn't one of them.

I was thinking the same thing. I checked it out today and the metal paneling looks like it is a similar system to what they used on Lime and Brunsfield Place. It doesn't appear to be as thin and stands out from the exterior wall maybe a half an inch.^^^I can't tell from the photo but I hope they avoid installing already warped metal paneling on the side of this apartment building like so many have done. This one is looking good.

More affordable and not so pretentious. Portions for people without eating disorders. Yes!

I initially agreed with that sentiment, but I walked around the site a few days ago and I think it's one of the worst. It looks remarkably cheap.^^^One of the best apartment projects in the North Loop.
