That's some good looking brickwork on The Edition buildings. And the windows are actually recessed a little bit. While they still look tacked onto the front of the much bigger towers, the detailing at least doesn't look as cheap as I was expecting. Thanks for the pics, Grant!

The west tower crown was lit up last night... Though it was not as nice as I think it could look, it is still nice to see the skyline extend its presence over in this area. Maybe it will look better with the other tower is lit as well.

Huh. Looks like some Wells Fargo employees are already in the building today.

There's a couple employees working there already, although most of it has been tours for those who are relocating. The first official employees move in this weekend.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse (to a pulp) but it's unfortunate such a mass of office space got divvied up this way.....such potential.

I really don't think there was ever that potential over building space or occupying space in the burbs. It just wouldn't have been cost effective.

What do you mean? The relocation of people from Class B space closer to the core, rather than the relocation of people in suburban sites?

The building interior is really nice an bright, the use of LED's makes it easy on the eyes. A lot of terrazzo in the lobbies, gives it a feeling like te buildings have been there for a long time. The conference center is beautiful and very high tech. The people moving in are getting a nice upgrade!

Is the skyway open from the Haaf Ramp to the West tower yet?

No, that's not what I meant. Obviously I prefer consolidation. I meant it's unfortunate that 1.5M SF of office space was built this way, out here, instead of something more substantial here or closer to the core. However, there's a big silver lining if you believe this development is what spurred the park/stadium/etc. here, so in that regard I'm glad the development is here. Still, I'm not a fan of the look or layout of this office space -- compared to what could have been, I guess. JMO.

Agreed. And...

I HATE that they created a new edge here with this pair of buildings massed this way - essentially turning their back on the Mill District/Washington Ave/the river. Hopefully as the whole area gets built out, that edge won't be so strong.

Now I'm not a big fan of the design of these towers, but I'm skeptical of the "edge" you're suggesting. I personally think the roads in the area are more of a barrier. I say this being a little reformed by the Radisson Red's topping out. They really don't seem to be a barrier once things are built up around then, and they look kind of cool from North east.

At least the sidewalks are huge. Raised protected bike lanes, too.

I don't think any other site plan would have provided any more actual permeability of this block, but there is something about the appearance of these as you look north that looks like some kind of wall. So there's a perceived edge even if it's no different than anything else that could have been here.
