4 large blue plastic-wrapped packages, somewhat TVM-shaped, appeared at the East Bank station today. Are TVMs being delivered/installed at any other stations along the line?

Hmmm, I may have seen a similar package at the West Bank station as well this morning.

I saw some at Union Depot Station about a week ago as well. But 4 TMVs seems a bit high for a center platform station where most riders will have U-Passes...

I am super stoked for this line. It's going to do wonders for this area.

Sweet Jesus.

I am so glad I stopped giving money to that organization.

EDIT: Ah, beat to the punch.

Kerri Miller is the worst. There, I said it.
Why is MPR still located in the city? Move someplace quite for pete's sake. Why stay located in th middle of the city where it is constantly changing?

why is KSTP not complaining about it's location over on university?

WCCO seems to do fine in the heart of downtown

Not sure when this was posted, but here are the opening day events scheduled for these stations:

Also saw this posted on metrotransit.org: "Starting in late April, METRO Green Line trains will operate through downtown Minneapolis on a regular service schedule in preparation for the Green Line’s opening on June 14."

I like the icons that each station has. Is that an official thing, each station having an icon? Gives them each a little bit of character.

I don't know about the others but the icon for Victoria is an image that's being used to brand the Historic Rondo project. The neighborhoods want to create interpretive signage, public art, monuments and other things to explain the history of the area.

I think they are the ones that were created for the On the Green Line campaign to encourage people to patronize businesses affected by construction, and they were more for neighborhoods, not specific stations.

Seattle's Light Rail system was mandated by the state (I think) to have unique symbols for each station. The idea was to make it easier for people who spoke a language that doesn't use the Roman alphabet. In practice, they are generally hard to make out, and don't always really reflect the neighborhood in any meaningful way.

I think that's the first map of a transit line in the Twin Cities that doesn't needlessly repeat the word "Station" at every station. (e.g. West Bank Station, Snelling Ave Station, etc.)

Finally, someone at Metro Transit wised up.

Wasn't the 16 only going to run once per hour? late at night?

I saw several people using the median walkway area east of the East Bank station around lunchtime today. There were about 6 people eating lunch, 2 or 3 sitting on benches reading, and a few walking along it. I think that the eastern "amenity area" will be much more successful than the western block, due to all the restaurants nearby. It was nice to see it being utilized today.

Great to hear! I've walked along it a few times, but I've never seen anyone else do so.
