why does the design even allow for the option to switch lanes? from Google maps you can see that before and after the station they could have created a barrier to prevent buses from being able to cross. Granted they gain some flexibility to having buses switch directions however should they if they...

Re: 35W BRT

Weak. I agree that a center platform would be much better, not only for the transfer reasons you stated, but because a center platform should allow for more generous and amenity rich experience for riders.

Re: Dock Street Residential Development

The MinnPost article had more details than Finance and Commerce, but still neglected to point out that these negotiations could have started last summer, when MnDot and the County were first notified about the proposed building. Yeah, I can't figure this out. Hennepin County usually seems to be so ...

Re: A-Mill Artist Lofts

I love that they are retaining the white elevator as well as the old conveyor 'skyway' connections. Looks like there will even be a staircase in one between the sections of the red tile elevator. Well, it says it will not be redeveloped "at this time"... I agree that they're a very cool h...

Re: 520 SE 2nd st. apartments

I've been thinking about this, becau...

Re: Washington & Walnut Flats (630 Washington Ave SE)

That's a great site -- I'm sort of surprised the University didn't buy it.

Re: 35W BRT

From reading the PAC meeting notes on the project website, it looks like a side platform station is more likely to be built at Lake Street. Mainly, MnDot and the Feds don't like the center platform roadway layouts, due to safety reasons. That's about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. EDIT: Wait,...
