Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
The garage door you see is for a guest parking. The entrance for residents is in the rear, off the sloped drive on the far right of the photo immediately above.

Clearly not to everyone's taste, but I think it looks good in person - similar to the Gold Medal Park letters down the street.

Re: People's Theatre
Good call - yeah, that's it. Found this photo which appears to be between the time of my photo/drawing and the one you posted which shows the top of the turret and the more elaborate entrance: http://www.hclib.org/pub/search/mplsphotos/mphotosaction.cfm?subject=Metropolitan%20Opera%20House If this p...

People's Theatre
Found this between the pages of an old book - it's about 4" by 6.5", made of a stiff cardboard-like material (much thinker than a postcard). Anyone know more about the building? Richard Obee? A little googling tells me that Snyder Bros Photo was operational in the 1890's. Is this "sou...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
^^ Hard to argue with that logic, especially this being America with Duck Dynasty and all.

Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
I've been watching this closely. The $1Mil+ units on the upper floors were among the first to go as were the corner units with the best layout and views of the park, Guthrie, and river. Might have been better for them to consolidate a few of the smaller units on the upper floors to create more in th...

^^ -1 Yup, amenities like this will accelerate the draw of people and families (like mine) downtown, which obviously spurs further residential development, retail, tax base expansion, etc. Lund's paved the way, and the opening of WF marks a critical milestone in downtown livability.

The sign on the door says July 29 - walked by there a couple of days ago and the sheet rock appeared almost complete.

Re: Downtown Demographics
Yes! I can’t wait to end the snow shoveling, ice dam preventing, lawn mowing, weed pulling, fertilizing, and endless maintenance required by 50’s rambler that consumes too much of my free time. Of course, our “stuff” has expanded to fill our present accommodations, and we’re going to have to substan...

Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
Out of curiosity, can anyone imagine a downtown where a family with, say, three teenagers could live? Just as a thought exercise. For some reason, that seems harder than tunneling the LRT under 5th Street. I’m new to this board, but have been lurking for a few weeks and appreciate the discussion. I...
