Former Car-X Site

Car-X has closed; the structure has a new roof and the beginning of a new facade. Does anyone know what is going in here?

Re: Calhoun Square

What is Hilarious is that is probably about half of what Blackstone paid for it! From the Star Tribune Article: "In 2007, the center changed hands for the second time in three years, when BlackRock, a New York investment firm, bought it for $47.3 million." ...that isn't a bad ROI but I do...

Re: Elan Uptown Phase II - (center and west blocks)

The first move-ins will be in August for this second building. It does look like they have a lot of work to do, but using the projects in dinkytown as a benchmark (which all have August leases inked,) they are further along than The Venue at Dinkytown is...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

Funny how most of us will agree in principle that having a single company master-plan an entire neighborhood is a Bad Thing, and yet the minute Ryan's proposal looks bigger, the attention is on that. I'd kind of like to see somebody other than Ryan develop this so that we get more hands into the de...

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects

On the tour of Lime, the developer with Greco told us that the developers tend to get nervous exceeding the $100 million mark... which is right around the cost of The Nic on Fifth and the similar projects in the area.

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)

Most people driving across the 35W bridge can't stop for photos, but I can assure you that it's not very interesting at this point. It's fairly tall, but just a bunch of cement.

Re: The Venue at Dinkytown - (14th Avenue SE & 5th Street SE

That leasing office is for The Marshall, walked by it this past weekend.
The leasing office for The Marshall is closer to 4th Street next to Royal Tobacco. Pacific and Maine is a separate space closer to 5th Street...

Re: The Marshall - (1313 Fifth Street Southeast)

TONS of new renderings. Popped up as an ad in my facebook news feed. Looks like this is going to be a pretty cool place to live in terms of amenities, especially by comparison with the other developments that offer little more than a small workout facility. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a....

Re: WaHu Student Housing - (1016 Washington Avenue Southeast

The angle of that rendering makes the "tower" actually look like a tower... it's just the end of a structure that is much wider than it is tall which you can see better from this picture from an old minnesota daily article

Re: 815 14th Ave SE

A notice has been affixed to the corners of the existing structure (the printing company's building) that says there is a meeting scheduled for May 20th regarding the application for changes in zoning

Re: 815 14th Ave SE

This is spot on. The train traffic is primarily freight plus the daily amtrak. As stated above switching occurs and on occasion engines will idle overnight. I live in the lodges and will occasionally be awoken to some very strange noises coming from the tracks. That said, I don't see any reason why ...
