What if we knocked down the juvenile detention center and some adjacent stuff, moved them into City Center, and build it on the Commons? Besides the current Target Center location, the Commons is the best fit for a new major event venue.

What's the alternative, though? Bulldoze it? And then what?

Has anyone looked at the proposals they put out the other day? I haven’t had a chance to dig in yet but curious how they look from a pedestrian perspective. Do they address the long brick wall along Kellogg?

I was just kidding about a light rail from the mall to Viking Lakes, to be sure.

Maybe this is our catalyst to finally close the missing link of light rail between the South Loop and Viking Lakes.

I’ve always felt the apartment building just north of 20 Washington really ruins the area. It’s so disconnected from everything and negates the effect of having the Nicollet ROW there.

Does any other local gas station even come close to Kwik Trip, honestly?

The Star Tribune had a feature about Kwik Trip last year that addressed why there aren't more stores in the metro area.

Did someone earlier suggest taking the juvie block and somehow tying into the Armory, a la Xcel and Roy Wilkins? No idea if any of that is feasible, but it could check a lot of boxes.

Otherwise, if they could figure out a way squeeze out more space at Target Center, that location seems so much ...

IMO what we learned from the pandemic is that 40 hours in the physical office each week isn't necessary for most jobs, but most companies operate better, onboard more effectively, and have better culture if there's some in-person time.

Does anyone know what's going on at the Rose Street Patisserie at Snelling and Selby? It looks like they're cutting out windows for a second storefront there.

Off the top of my head, the Raymond and Fairview stations have both seen notable development, and Westgate too if that counts. There were also a handful of new apartments east of Snelling early on.

That said, it'd be cool if Costco came to Midway.

I'm curious how anyone takes her seriously.
