Re: West End / Central Park West Development - St. Louis Park
So it looks like the framing of the Spec office building in West End is up to about the 6th floor but I don't see anything that looks like an elevator core. Is this common? It seems that usually the elevator bank rises with the building. Just curious.

Re: Washington and Portland Mixed Use - 22 stories
Someone at SSC pointed out that the date on the rendering in the TIF proposal is from May 31, 2018, so it appears to be an outdated rendering. Thankfully!

Re: Washington and Portland Mixed Use - 22 stories
The TIF plan report does have what appears to be an updated rendering of the tower. I actually really liked the previous design so the new look is a bit disappointing in my opinion.

Does anyone know what is going in next to the AC hotel across the street from Olive Garden? It looks like at tower crane was going up this morning when I drove by.

Re: West End / Central Park West Development - St. Louis Park
I never rant on this site but I'm feeling kinda punchy today! There are sooo many issues with West End that could be improved with even a tiny bit of sensitivity to design. The parking lot to the east of Duke Drive has no ground floor pedestrian street access that I can see. You are required to take...

Re: 2800 Wayzata Blvd. (Former Northwestern Bell offices)
They've already updated the bus stop a bit so that it has a proper place to stand. The Google image is outdated. I would hope that they would add a shelter at some point. Also, for some reason the manholes on that stretch of road are oddly deep which makes for a bumpy ride.

Not sure why this would be considered car-dependent. It is directly on the #9 bus route that goes downtown.

Re: West Elm Hotel & Condos - 102-120 1st Street N
We've had a few sources confirm that the West Elm Hotel is not dead, it has just moved sites. More information to come soon! I hope this is true! Minneapolis is still listed as a location on their website for what it's worth. I'm actually more excited about having a West Elm store closer to the dow...

Is there really a parking shortage in Minneapolis? I have literally never had an issue finding a parking spot. As we speak my car is in a ramp with hundreds of empty spaces available. Granted, I'm not parked within a block of my destination but that doesn't really bother me.

I had a friend visiting from DC this weekend and he was thrilled to see that there was finally a hotel in Uptown. He said he's tired of having to stay downtown.

Agreed. Perhaps even in my top 5 of all buildings in the city! This is definitely in my top 5 favorite suburban buildings. An adaptive reuse of this area and that building would be amazing.

Re: Amazon's New HQ?
I was in Seattle last week and stayed in a hotel 1 block from the Amazon "Campus". I have to say that I was blown away by the amount of development going on in that area of town (South Lake Union). I lived and worked in that area in the early 90's and I have to say that it is a shockingly ...

The Ace Hotel is moving along nicely. That area is starting to feel quite dense.
