really like this design. thankful developers keeping faith in downtown in spite of the fear mongering going on in our pathetic local media.

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site)
AC hotel i mean... the gay 90's ownership doesn't care about their exterior because the city doesn't press them on it.
but both of these buildings are shabby bookends on hennepin ave.

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site)
the hennepin side of this building is just bad... does the planning commission just not care about pressing developers on materials anymore? the facade looks like black cardboard.

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)
what is the issue here. I've walked across the bridge.. it's perfectly fine. the entire plaza feeding into the commons park is great and such a vast improvement to this end of downtown.

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)
at the open house, upon exiting the stadium they had the plaza gated in such a way as to funnel people to use the bridge to cross Chicago unless you wanted to walk over towards the ticket office area and cross that intersection there.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
The seats I found were a little snug for my large frame, but they do their job. I also happened to like how they're not bolted to the bowl, but through steel rails. Still they make me wonder how they'll fare when 70,000 seats are needed for Super Bowl LII. I'm not sure what there is to like about t...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
yea the logistics weren't great. had everyone lining up for the metal detectors and then once inside you hit a choke point as they didn't allow people to just roam the concourse. they funneled everyone up to the top level...creating log jam at escalators that weren't working. then another choke poin...

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park
how large is this "great lawn" in the commons park? nothing like that in mears park. mostly hard surface there. granted there isn't a fake stream that isn't working half the time, but...The most pavement/pavers I've ever seen in a park. They should've checked out Mears park in stp...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
it would only happen "a lot" if people who want to throw a rock are dumb enough to think every move they make isn't being recorded on cameras. but yea i can see idiots doing this again. the rocks are right there. walking around the exterior i'd hate to slip and fall on all those jagged rocks. landsc...

it's a permeable surface... softer. they had a kids climbing thing on one of these areas. there's also apparently an area on the 5th st side to let your dog do his/her business.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
What's yours? Oh I thought it was pretty clear. Comparing home construction to the US Bank Stadium is silly. Like comparing an inflatable snowman to the Metrodome's inflatable roof. Didn't think I had to spell that one out but sorry for making it too complicated. it was just a joke dude I realize i...

non-descript stunted 80's glass box torn down for refined building and garden spaces fronting our busiest pedestrian street. it's a win and no loss.

the proposal from two years ago for this site was a superior building. 10 floors higher but is was a glass box with accents. this update is just an extension of the wells fargo wall.

Re: Counties Transit Improvement Board (CTIB)
then how can we say we have a regional system if these counties just drop out. so yes, it has or is dying. the lack of comprehensive funding mechanism is killing transit planning here. this counties board was a band aid I agree. it doesn't have the dollars or overall power to operate fully independe...
