Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium

I Was thinking actually that Snelling and university redevelopment could be a good place for a soccer stadium.
I agree, but the site was eliminated to already progressing development plans for the site.

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)

Talking to a project management staff member from Ryan on this project, he confirmed the second floor will contain skyway, retail, and mechanically only. Originally in the plan the first few floors would have been pretensioned parking structure, but Wells Fargo didn't need it nor wanted to pay for i...

Chester Gardens - Duluth, MN

I wanted to share this mix-used development that was recently completed in Duluth. Seems to be very well designed and built. Definitely looks like it has been there years.

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium

I would gather we won't hear anything until after election season. So that even if the public involvement is infrastructure in the Farmers Market, it doesn't become an election issue.

Re: Target Field Station Development

There's a rendering here:

Looks like there's bits of info on other projects in this paywalled story. MN United Stadium, etc.
Anybody able to glean info from this?

Or a Jimmy John's to fill the surprising hole of JJ deliveries in Standish/Ericsson :)
It seems silly that I live just over the Ford Bridge and the Jimmy Johns in Highland can't deliver to the Minneapolis side.

Thanks for your public expression. I'm sure it was the trains fault.. and not a person trying to make it past the train or looking at his or her phone.

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar

Before the Portland Streetcar built their own heavy maintenance facility the streetcars would utilize the light rail trackage to reach the MAX maintenance facility.

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)

But this would have been decided early in the process, and it would have only changed the plans slighty, so not really costing anything more. But besides that, no plans EVER had parking in these buildings. Not at any point. So it is very obvious that this was planned from the beginning, and will be...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I'm not sure why you think that a streetcar would be slower than the Green Line as configured. Given a streetcar would probably have more stops (both Minneapolis and St. Paul have been talking 1/4 mile stop frequency for their streetcars) and have to deal with traffic in its ROW (and might not even...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)

I highly doubt there were any plans for parking on those floors. This larger level is more likely for conference rooms and auditoriums for larger meetings and conferences at the facility. And the front corner will most likely be the large atrium. I'll go ask my neighbor who's a project manager on t...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)

Looks like the skyway level is going to have some really tall ceilings, and perhaps a 3-story lobby?
It's a mechanical and skyway floor. Supposed there was an option for parking on those levels which Wells Fargo declined leaving an awkwardly tall floor.

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

Wouldn't 8.1 million be able to completely fund the yard? Why would they dismiss that out of hand?
I would guess litigation would probably cost more. The Vikings had their chance to propose when the RFP came out.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

St. Paul must have given more intersections full transit priority or tweaked the system again. This week my westbound trains have all been on time arriving in downtown Minneapolis. This is the first time since the line has opened that this has happened. Here you go. http://www.twincities.com/localn...

Yeah, they were doing some work on the 12-14th at night. No idea what they actually did, but there were tons of announcements on the platforms.
Xcel Energy had utility work along the line.
