Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Corridor Development & MinHi Line

Even has a table/window eating area looking at the LRT station for quick stops-and-goes. But I'd be money that after the first two grab-and-gos, that door gets locked up for security
The NL Holiday corner door is not locked, and used often.

Holiday is proposing to rebuild the gas station at the corner of Hiawatha Ave and 46th St. It will be at the planning commission next week. https://lims.minneapolismn.gov/download/Agenda/1141/RPT-PLAN11439-4601%20Hiawatha%20Ave.pdf/48335/1955/4601%20Hiawatha%20Ave I had always hoped that Walgreens ...

If it was Hyvee, it wouldn't be their first. They have an urban format store in Downtown Des Moines. 18,000 sq. ft. is not very large... for additional context over the Uptown Target. The Highland Park Target is 20k, the Des Moines Hyvee is 38k, the Cub Foods at 46th & Hiawatha is 46k, the Prospect...

Re: Suburban Malls and Associated Retail News

Does JLL have previous history owning malls and redeveloping them like that? From a Google search, it seems they've been picking up a lot of big malls in the past few years, with comments about upgrading/remodeling them to not be "malls", but more community assets. I think that would be a great thi...

Is the southwest metro really so lucrative for Costco that they need to make their 10th store a second one in this corner of the metro? Wouldn't Lino Lakes/Blaine, Plymouth, or Lakeville make far more sense based on where they already have stores? This isn't even 10 miles from the Eden Prairie Cost...

Bloomington Facebook chatter is that Taqueria las cuatro milpas took over the old 1st Wok location today and hope to open within a month. Their Facebook page is apparently in Spanish but they do note they're opening a new location with a "spacious parking lot". I've thought about checking out the T...

This leaves JCPenney with five stores in the Twin Cities: Burnsville Center, Ridgedale, Rosedale, Maplewood Mall, and Tamarack Village. This is good news for Burnsville Center and Maplewood Mall which would be in really rough shape if they lost another anchor. I hope Eden Prairie Mall takes a queue...

What is the extent of damage on Lake St from the fires and looters? The media seems to just have vague descriptions. I lived over here a year ago and the neighborhood was coming together. I live near Plymouth Ave N now, which had fires in the late 60s and never recovered. I hope the same isn't goin...

So there's a new CPC packet for 1040 Como. I haven't been over there in a while, did the site work mentioned in the above post never go anywhere? A while back they cleared some trees from the site but I haven't seen any other evidence of work. I only go by the site a few times a month though so may...

In regards to the 3rd Ave bridge redesign, any indication that they'll have those like observation cutouts for people to stop and take in the view like there are on that Franklin Ave bridge? I think that's a really nice touch to keep pedestrians from stopping in the middle of the bridge to get a vi...

Ah, well that one is already owned by the University of Minnesota - so perhaps with this new purchase, they'll be inclined to sell this last surface lot to a developer?

A ton of trees have been cut down and cleared out on the north side of the site. I have no idea if it's for light rail construction or not, but it's where the first phase would go, so here's hoping. The Southwest LRT Updates listed this for last week: Minneapolis Chowen Avenue to Lake Street For th...
