Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

Is there a technical reason why they chose James over Emerson/Fremont? Is the stop spacing too close? I can't imagine that the headways would be short enough for that to be a problem.
IIRC, I believe the Emerson to Fremont block is too short for a 3-car station.

Re: Freight Rail News and Happenings

If the new storage track is built, what makes them think Progressive Rail won’t continue to store railcars on the tracks through those neighborhoods?
The article does state that language would be added strictly prohibiting them from using those tracks for storage if the new tracks are built.

I wonder when they're going to develop that lil green triangle to the west of Lowa
It's where Eric The Red was supposed to build and move to, but he backed out and opted for 66th in Richfield. It would be nice to see a restaurant or something go there.

Where it’s at Sorry for the snark... but phase 2 is just south of Lowa46 (phase 1) - at 46th & Hiawatha - literally in the title of the thread. The link above your post has a map included too, but here's a Google map screen grab as well. If you're familiar with the Dairy Queen near Minneahaha P...

Ok, got some questions about what that building labeled "Terminal" off of 28th Avenue and 62nd Street will be in Alt 2A. 2A also looks like they'll pave over Mother Lake completely. That building is labeled "HANGAR" in 2A. As COLSLAWS mentioned above, that's what they call out i...

Re: Uptown-LynLake-Wedge - News & General Topics

I have a feeling that these two places are just new concepts from the same owners as Hammer and Fremont. I have no solid evidence to substantiate this other than that they're side-by-side and they're both going to be open to 2am. Sort of, Suh still holds the lease, but recently decided to retire: L...

give em' 18 months My thought exactly. I mean, great that things are opening, but the ‘gimmicky-mess’ of that concept almost sounds like something out of the Onion. I think the bigger question is if they have good food. If it's good and gimmicky, I don't care. Hammer & Sickle and The Fremont ha...

Looks like they've decided to spit the alignment at Broadway and 21st. I really, really wish they hadn't decided this -- I think splitting it is the kind of decision that makes transit needlessly illegible just so we can sorta avoid a minor political inconvenience. In time, we'll definitely be wish...

Not mentioned but I assume this includes the cafe space? I've thought for a while it would make sense for them to put another Ceres there. The cafe space is a part of it, that's mentioned in this article: https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2022/08/05/restaurateurs-buy-bachelor-farmer-build...

As far as the Blue Line outsourcing, my reaction is to shrug. It's still hard-working Americans doing the work, it's not like we're outsourcing it to Mexico or India. I think the issue is outsourcing work to a Right To Work state and to non-union people. It might not be Mexico or India, but certain...
