Re: Uptown - LynLake - The Wedge - News & General
If you think expressing opinions or sharing expertise on this forum is a waste of time, why are you here in the first place?
I appreciate project information and discussion, which this forum does well with. However, if I do post my opinions, I state that. Your post made an assumption by opinion ...

A good canary project would be the Utah FrontRunner 2X project. FTA’s annual report documents anticipate awarding the grant in August 2026. If that doesn’t happen, or there’s an unexplained delay, that could be a bad sign.

“We concluded that the rehabilitation option was not really feasible due to the condition of the building," Dickerson said. Some of the building issues include window damage, HVAC damage, asbestos, rotted interior pipes, leaking roof and the lack of a sprinkler system.

Information starting to come out about the demolition of the Minnesota Church Center , to be replaced by 145 units of affordable housing.

Didn't know this but apparently Aquatennial almost did not happen this year and there will not be a fireworks display either this year.
Yeah, I was super bummed to learn about no fireworks! Hopefully the new group (Downtown Council gave up running Aquatennial and Holidazzle) will find a way to ...

There's certainly room for skepticism, but they've purchased the 25 acres - so that's something. The last paragraph of the Business Journal article has this:

Keep 10th parallel to 7th as far as the Twins Way intersection, then turn straight south to line up with the current 10th where it meets Glenwood. The northernmost part of Ramp A still goes away, though the resulting site isn’t quite as big. But then 10th and 7th are still functional and there’s ...

You may want to check the location on Google Maps, as this is not near the Mississippi River or the Amtrak rail route. Just saying.
I think this will be a 'good' area for this, as it at least will be near another destination spot for many.

They also have all of the speed limits up. The two I've seen so far are the viaduct over Prairie Center Drive to/from SouthWest Station (25 MPH) and the bridge over 212 and Shady Oak Road (45 mph). Based on the email from this morning there is a section somewhere that is 55 mph, but I don't know ...

Maybe instead of Trailhead as the end point they can update that to say Theo Worth Park or something. Every time I see the 7 in my neighborhood (34th Ave near Hwy 62) I'm always like - where the hell is Trailhead? SO DUMB. Transit should be intuitive, and that is just not intuitive. I'd be interested in a photo of the original entrance. The current modernized version is jarring and ugly. If we're fortunate enough to see a residential conversion, it would be nice to see the entrance restored.
Maybe I'm missing something, but the only significant change I see in the photo is ...

IIRC, I believe the Emerson to Fremont block is too short for a 3-car station.Tom H. wrote: August 14th, 2023, 2:30 pm Is there a technical reason why they chose James over Emerson/Fremont? Is the stop spacing too close? I can't imagine that the headways would be short enough for that to be a problem.
