Re: The Edge on Oak - (406 12th Avenue Southeast)

On that note, I should take my own advise and say why I like this building haha. I think it add appropriate density to the areas and I actually don't mind the color scheme. I think the brick patten (whether fake or not) and metal pieces add a cool industrial look to the building. :)

Re: The Edge on Oak - (406 12th Avenue Southeast)

Foto, thanks for your specific complaints. I mean this with all sincerity as it allows me to see what people dislike instead of just the sweeping "it's hideous" statement. I think FISHMAN is onto something. When folks dislike aspects of the building, could we be clear on what aspects we di...

Yeah, they are putting in a floating slab. It is supposed to mitigate against noise caused by the trains correct?

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha)

I think what MSP was referring to is that on the Hiawatha line, there is no street running shared lanes. While the rails may be in the road, they do not share lanes with automobiles, etc. If one were to drive on the rails, it would be difficult to switch back to car lanes as they are separated.

This sounds awesome! I agree that the Southdale Transit center is needed, but it could do with a nice facelift. Is there a botox equivalent for development? :D

Re: Elan of Uptown

I agree. I was just in Toronto and even though they were building towers left and right, I didn't think the pedestrian experience was that different from what I experience in the Twin Cities. Toronto was a cool place to visit though and I suggest it as a vacation spot for everyone. :)

I have seen comments about security a couple times now. As someone who honestly doesn't know, what about Xcel's building or business requires such security? Thanks.

Re: Cedar Avenue BRT (Red Line)

I agree but I would still keep it numbers, just make it clear on the maps which routes are high frequency. I like what Metro Transit does now with the special map and the signs denoting high frequency along the routes. Boston has tried to do special labeling of the routes. It calls the CT (crosstown...

The actually is an Apple Store (or something close to it) in the College Bookstore in Coffman Union. I'm not sure if it is an official Apple Store but they certainly sell a lot of Apple products.
