Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Guess I shouldn't be surprised we've gotten to an unironic declaration of - "In its majestic equality, the law forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, beg in the streets and steal loaves of bread" - so quickly

Re: Elan Uptown (all phases) - 2837 Emerson Ave
Anyone know what's going on with the Elan? The phase 1 building is now The Miles . New sign up on the Dupont side of the building though some of the Elan branding is still visible elsewhere. I don't think it's been sold, so is this just a rebranding to help visibility now that they're no longer the ...

Also, the Ramsey County attorney's office does not agree with your legal assessment. From the strib article - “We are working with law enforcement on this case and have requested additional investigation to inform our charging decision,” said county attorney spokesman Dennis Gerhardstein." Bein...

Are you really just saying pictures meant to shame should be illegal or do you have a hang up with female breasts? Here, let me google that for you - https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/617.261 Yes, "pictures meant to shame" is exactly the kind of thing envisioned by the revenge porn...

from Travis on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/user/tcarter612 [–]tcarter612 24 points 7 months ago Sorry everyone, I have been a bit preoccupied the last 4-6 weeks working on getting fiber installed. Here is the truth; USI has long been in the hunt for a property on the east side of town, we finall...

Re: Sons of Norway block redevelopment - 1455 Lake St W
Love the scale. Love 326 units. Not a huge fan of 327 parking stalls, but that does come to less than 1/unit because some portion of those spots are intended for SoN employees. At the open house they said it was 327 underground stalls for residents and then there was also ground level structured pa...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
The buffer lane for this new stretch looks a little wider than the phase one section to the east, but it's maybe a foot wider, not double. The bollards went in on the Wedge section of 28th yesterday. Traffic this morning was fine. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Qj8UgeXeKkFpNMZJIflC_mMCfIj1C3RyAIF...

someone else owns 520 W Lake and 2949 Garfield
I am curious why the 510 W Lake development doesn't extend the entire block to Garfield.

Seriously, ticketing people who ride on the sidewalk? Given the many things that MPD ignores these days, this should be way down the list of enforcement priorities. Also, given the way low level stuff like this is unevenly enforced (see also: NYPD stop and frisk) and in light of incidents like this ...

Re: D Line - Fremont/Emerson/Chicago Rapid Bus
Frankly, I'd like to see the entire Chicago transit station torn down, re-thought-out and rebuilt to orient to Chicago and Lake directly, much as how the Uptown station operates. I think many people questioned the design of that thing at the time. the Chicago/Lake setup isn't ideal, but I'm not sur...

All the meters near the stadium are 8am- 10pm including weekends. Not sure what the new ramp is charging, but the surface lots are still pretty cheap in this area. The one at Portland and 3rd is $2 for nights and weekends, the one at Park and Washington is $5. (and day rates are more like $7-12, not...

I'm not against the calming of traffic on 28th street as I live in Lowry Hill East just off of 28th near the Midtown Greenway. I drive to work and in the morning traffic is usually backed up close to Bryant Ave at the Lyndal & 28th traffic signal with two lanes and it is usually a couple phases...

A lot of them do right now. MN breweries that produce fewer than 20k barrels a year can self-distribute.

I'm currently paying USI $49.95 for 250Mb. To get that from Comcast, looks like I'd have to go with the "Extreme 250" tier which is $69.95 for the first 12 months w/ a contract. Here's part of the fine print - Offer ends 3/31/17. Restrictions apply. Not available in all areas. New resident...

How long has the art in the windows been there? About a week maybe, though I only really noticed once the paper was taken off the windows. This is the basic structure in Minnesota Brewpub: Can produce beer onsite (but only one site. All of the new Town hall locations get their beer from the main location) Can sell packaged beer directly to customers in 64oz and 750ml containers (incl Sunday) Can sell other company's alcoholic beverages...
