Re: Office campus conversions
I thought this was pretty interesting: "Minneapolis, he said, requires a full site plan approval to get a building permit which takes a long time and has no public financing tools for office conversions. St. Paul, on the other hand, views these conversions as tenant improvement projects, which ...

Amazing. I'm a longtime patient at Southside community health center and love that place to pieces. Scott's donation to PPL should also close some financing gaps for projects in the works. Never opened because of 9/11. The terrorists won :`(Honestly don't care so much what happens to the interior of the building(s), but if the loggia and elevated walkway facing the river could be reopened (were they ever opened in the first place?), that would be huge.

Re: Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis - General Topics
When the closure was announced back in May, the biz journal article said they weren't planning to sell the property, which I found surprising. The Elliot Park redevelopment and soon 31st/Nicollet ones are pretty great, though those include the branch reopening.

Re: Minneapolis 2023 Elections - City Council
Master parliamentarian Josh Martin and I were on the Wedge LIVE podcast yesterday to recap everything that happened at Ward 10. It's the most complete accounting of the event you will find out there. I didn't explicitly say this but I have suspicions that Basim Sabri is behind the Warsame campaign g...

Re: Minneapolis 2023 Elections - City Council
Conventions don't dictate who appears on the ballot, they dictate who gets party endorsement. Candidates ignore the endorsement outcome all the time but literally always seek it, so clearly they see value in spending their time doing so. Anywhere from several thousand to tens of thousands of people ...

Re: Minneapolis 2023 Elections - City Council
Where is your evidence, SurlyLHT? The last convention to break down was SD62 in 2018. That was put on by SD62, not Minneapolis DFL. Can you name any other examples? Participation in Minneapolis DFL specific caucuses and conventions has been steadily increasing since 2018. More people are getting inv...

Re: Minneapolis 2023 Elections - City Council
Yeah it's not the Minneapolis DFL's fault that a candidate purposely and constantly lied to their supporters and stoked a mob. I was at the convention working with Warsame's campaign all day to make sure their delegates were correct. The campaign did one thing and said another to their people. Saw i...

Is the code itself updated yet to reflect 2040 plan? Hopefully 32 parking spots for 19 units will chill people out. Only one variance needed so not a strong opportunity for denial on the merits.
