Re: Tunnels!

So what is the geological extent of this pressed sand layer which was mined by the Ford plant? I understand the greatest costs to subterranean transportation are to stations, but if this layer is this stupendously easy to excavate how far does it stretch underground? https://www.startribune.com/did-...

Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp

Parents take kids to parking lots to give their kids a place to bike in circles and loops all the time near where I live.

Would be an accident waiting to happen to have kids on bikes going in circles on a trail.

Any idea what the feedback was?
No idea. But I doubt staff would voice feedback about density proposed. More likely about façade facing Mainstreet and the Center of the Arts being plain and comparatively non-distinct to what it’s replacing.

Word is that Beard (decades-long property owner of this site and apartment developer) pulled back the proposal after getting feedback from city staff, and will resubmit after adjustments.

Interstate 94

Weren't the interstate highways originally built so we could drive tanks and missile launchers on them if the Soviet Union attacked?
Eisenhower’s intent was to link cities, not destroy the middles of them, But got re-purposed to clear sections of cities as part of the Interstate project.
