I didn't think I would ever see Lay Lady Lay used as an intro for a skateboarding video!

Re: Vikings Stadium

As I expected, the AECOM design is fantastic. Majorly disappointed. Without trying to offend, could you elaborate what about the AECOM design sicks out to you? I actually do like the lower half of their design, but the transition to the roof makes me think DOME. Which I personally am not interested...

Uhhhhh....

I guess I can't say I'm super shocked a local government did this but you'd think Ryan would be a little smarter than that? But we'll see how it works out.
Ooops.

Re: Dock Street Apartments - (333 Washington Avenue North)

Sidebar: While the iOS 6 upgrade has probably decreased my quality of life by like twenty percent by taking transit out of maps, the panoramic function on the camera is really just great. I started using Bing. It works okay . Upgraded then downgraded. Apple has a lot of work to do on Maps. Sidebar:...

Re: Posting In General

General request: Could people take more photos? I feel like we used to have so many more construction photos back on Minnescraper. Hope your example sets the bar high for the rest of us! The pics look great, thanks for encouraging more on the site! I don't get outside Downtown/the U of M area very ...

Re: Vikings Stadium

It was good to hear HKS say their designs have been aimed to the desires of their customers. I believe there are still enough forward thinking authorites in Mlps to get a fairly modern design built. New thought I had looking at these new images concerns more the structural design of the new facility...

Re: Vikings Stadium

I think it's bad policy to pit rural, suburban, and urban against each other in the stadium design. There are many, many great examples of fantastic architecture throughout Minnesota.
Props for an appropriate response. Rural Mn thanks you.

Looks like Dominion just made like $100 million dollars through some refinancing of their other properties . Is this crazy good news for this long stalled project? Note: I don't 100 percent know what refinancing actually is, so keep that in mind. Econ major can field that one. Refinancing more or l...

Re: Vikings Stadium

I don't think the architects "missed" the idea that the sun would cast shadows on their building. A sun study was done, but I'm guessing there was some trade off between having a closed off stadium with perfect artificial lighting, or sunny fall games with some shadows. I saw the shadows o...

Re: Peavey Plaza reconstruction project

There are two main driving factors to ignore all calls for restoration from my point of view: 1. Orchestra Halls has plans to renovate and wants to reuse the outdoor space in a more modern way, which on a dying(obvious hyperbole don't freak out) orchestra budget would be too expensive if they also h...

Re: Peavey Plaza reconstruction project

Almost worth the $22 in gas I would have to spend to get up there to each lunch! Really though I think we should tear down the IDS while we're at it. I heard the were a couple drinking fountains broken on the 22nd floor and restoration is not an option. You know what they say, "Out with the old...
