Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

So does that represent Au Bon Pain leaving the DT Mpls market? They used to have multiple outlets, including Capella Tower ground level and Northstar (I think?) skyway. They just opened a new store in Capella Tower last year and I haven't heard anything about them leaving. I bet they are just leavi...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

How long is the typical lease on a place like those restaurants? Could it be City Center would get more profit out of Saks than the three of those combined and just chose not to renew their leases? That could also explain why the opening date is so far out. I believe that's what happened with Caribo...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

I tried doing a google image search for Walgreens Marquee Store but it just brings up a whole bunch of pictures of all types of walgreens store. Anyone have an idea of what a typical "Marquee Store" looks like? I really liked the pic that the business journal had of a flagship store in Chi...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)

Is the area with the ugly cement wall where the residential portion is going? If so, is that slated to be completed with this project? If not, how long do we live with that wall before it is done? YUCK!

Re: Elan Uptown (all phases) - 2837 Emerson Ave

Maybe, my understanding was that each of these had individual two stall garages which would be at ground level.

EDIT: according to the floor plans, that seems to be correct.

On the second one in from the right, there seem to be 2 little steps off to the left. Where do those go?

Re: Pet Pictures

Our three rescue babies love their life downtown. We've made a lot of creative uses of vertical space, hah. It's what happens when two people with cats move in together on a budget. As bored as they look by the feather wand, they're pretty playful. https://i.imgur.com/qjXUhegl.jpg Are you allowed t...

Re: Pet Pictures

^^LOVE! It's probably a good thing I could never figure out how to get pictures to work on here. The amount of pet pictures I have is ridiculous and I find WAY too much pleasure in showing them off.

Re: Southside - General Topics

I joined some friends for Bingo at The American Legion (classy right?) last night in the Longfellow Neighborhood and overheard a some women talking that one of the women was opening another pizza place across from the chatterbox pub in S. Minneapolis. "Another" would assume they already ha...

Those corner windows though! I would DIE! I love them! Otherwise relatively unimpressive. I give it a Meh.

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map

I was just saying the other day as we drove by that I don't know why they don't find a way to consolidate into the Sons of Norway building and sell that land off for redevolopment. I don't know if that would be possible, but is a drive through bank NEEDED right there? I know it's also their home mor...

Re: Superior Plating site

I really like the way it looks and what it's going to do to kind of cap that edge of the neighborhood where it really feels open and baron right now. Also, I think that even if phase two doesn't pan out with them, they'll sell the land and SOMETHING would go there sooner or later (hopefully sooner)....

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium

Speaking of semi-open air stadiums, has anyone seen the fly through video for Atlanta's proposed stadium? Their retractable roof is pretty awesome. EDIT: Link below. Also, I guess to relate it to us... it's too bad we couldn't have done something more along the of their roof to achieve that open air...

Re: Lake & Nicollet Redevelopment (Kmart site)

Maybe, maybe not... I just read that Target is taking a 5.4 billion dollar loss with the Canada ordeal. That's gotta hurt someone where it hurts and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw them taking caution with any sort of expansion in the near future.

Re: Lake & Nicollet Redevelopment (Kmart site)

It would be a lot less noticeable/irritating if every other CVS and every other Walgreens was actually another chain, or perhaps a local variant. Perhaps we should be promoting more Target Express locations? Actually, though, we really could use more of these little Targets in places. I'd...
