Re: Nic on Fifth - (290' - 26 Stories)

It looked like they have most of the horizontal red panel in and it looks nice. Too bad they couldn't have done a little more with the horizontal louvers. I've been wondering if the louvers are going to be lit up at night or have some type of banners attached? I do like them as they add some variet...

Re: Block E

This design will make the transition of turning the building into a casino by 2019 easy enough. It will already look like one. All they'll need to do is roll in the slot machines.

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)

I can't wait to start seeing some glass go on it. It still seems so stern. I always want moar glass Downtown. :)
Some of the glass on floors 2-4 has been installed on the side that faces Nicollet.

Re: Solhavn - (815 2nd Street North)

Construction crew was working at 7:00 AM on Saturday on this one. Blew out a transformer at about 7:15 AM & shut down power for the whole area for a while. Sparks were flying, loudest thing I've ever heard.

Re: 222 & Whole Foods - (222 Hennepin Avenue)

The Washington Ave side is turning out gorgeous. The row house and walk up apartment effect (with the tower at the corner) makes a strong visual statement that announces you are entering the North Loop district. 1000+ posts & never seen anything he doesn't like. I commend your optimism but let'...

Re: 222 & Whole Foods - (222 Hennepin Avenue)

Perhaps I missed this but does anyone know what is going on across the street from here at N 2nd St & 1st Ave? The building on that block was recently demolished.

Re: Target Center Renovation

Speaking of Sid, I don't see his statue in the renderings. Guess I'm still not quite sure why he has one to begin with.

Re: New Target Building - (1001 Nicollet Mall)

so...they're spending millions of dollars to renovate this building for employee amenities only to tear it down for a 60 story skyscraper "in the near future"? umm ok. and that wcco building isn't going anywhere. it's one of the best designed buildings downtown. and it actually looks like...

Re: New Target Building - (1001 Nicollet Mall)

I somehow don't see WCCO leaving their unique building on Nicollet Mall. And the Target store downtown already has a pharmacy and restrooms. If they get paid enough money they might. I just heard that construction work would be starting on the downtown Target store (specifically "pharmacy &...

Re: New Target Building - (1001 Nicollet Mall)

Target is spending over $15 M to renovate this building with the intent to tear it down in 5-7 years. I believe they are talking to WCCO about acquiring their building/land and building another office tower on the site, beginning sometime around 2018-2019. Sounds like they are also going to be addin...

Re: 222

This may be an idiotic question, but are they reusing the old building on site, or are they just doing a LEED type piece by piece demolition?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the plan is to re-use the existing parking structure. So demolition is probably near completion.
