Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
What I don't like about this line, along with light rail is that it is very easy to board without paying. Along with that, more transit cops will have to be hired to check tickets which adds the the expense of the line. But I don't know what else could be done to make sure people pay.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Cheapo won't become fully obsolete because records are making a comeback. So it's actually keeping them in the neighborhood for a fairly long time.

Re: Opus Ritz Block Development
Yeah those plans existed before "The Yard" and Gold Medal Park. At the time there was no greenspace in any part of downtown so they planned a park there. But the combination of having a park 5-6 blocks away, another by the river, and a high demand for residential, it makes sense to nix the...

Re: District 600 - (600 Fifth Street North)
This thing has looked practically the same since summer because of the neighboring building's collapse. Also, it looks unsteady, thoughts on that?

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
In reality, the only truly "ghetto" building in the area are the Nicollet Towers. They are not good at all and fill the area with people that can fit the stereotype. It is subsidized housing and I see the people that live in their, my grandma lives there. She is part of the older Russian c...

West End / Central Park West - St. Louis Park
http://www.startribune.com/blogs/283209901.html DLC Residential is proposing five new buildings at West End right up against Highway 100. It is a massive project that would add 706,000 sq ft of offices, 363 apartment units, 150 room hotel, and a 2600 stall parking ramp. http://apps.startribune.com/b...

Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
I don't know if I understood this correctly, but it would go from Roseville to st Paul and then to Minneapolis. What's the purpose of that? Since it goes through major st Paul streets and looks like it's mostly for Roseville and st Paul, why not have it end at union depot and have people transfer on...

Re: Huron and Essex Hotel
Many of the projects going on around the city involve infill of parking lots. Some may be different but a majority is infill. It's interesting and telling of an area where the construction is demolishing existing properties. It's showing that this area is already dense but market factors make the ar...

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
I don't think this is the best idea. Honestly a street car has no value over a bus going down the same route. It goes the same speed or even slower, is generally the same size or not much bigger and is just a larger cost of money. If you're going to build a route down on those streets I would say a ...

Re: Nic on Fifth - (290' - 26 Stories)
I don't think that's the correct reasoning. If we do so much for safety we should have the almost perfect line. We have had upwards or 20 accidents and even though a lot of fault goes to people's stupidity, the safety was not as good as it should be.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
The university basically has given full signal priority. Crossing the tracks takes is impossible because the light stays red for long and green only very slightly. I'm glad.

Re: City Center
It's just going to take time, because the Nic on Fifth are the first true new residents to downtown. LPM is in an area full of apartments that is close to downtown but away from it at the same time. It mostly adds to the Loring Park neighborhood and slightly the downtown area. Nic on Fifth, the Rit...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
I finally got to ride the Green Line today. It was okay, besides the fact that the ride time from end to end starting from Target Field Station took almost an hour and that trains were 10-15 minutes delayed because of some incident at Raymond Station I saw a lot of positives. On the Minneapolis end ...

Re: Hennepin Avenue (Downtown)
Idk it just looks kind of strange, I may drive up to it if I have time today. I wouldn't know that it's a park, it just looks like a large bleacher which makes sense for sitting but there's a bleacher to nothing. I feel if more plant and flower plots were added to make it more green, even in the sma...

Re: Hennepin Avenue (Downtown)
It's because it doesn't look very appealing. It looks kind of strange,as if it isn't done. More should be done, imo.
