Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 48 stories / 550'
Attended the meeting yesterday. Only one person spoke in opposition which was a resident of the Legacy. Obviously not happy with the new building blocking their view of the riverside. Anyway, all items for Eleven passed 6-0! This is rich. They just stole the view of the river from the west bank off...

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)
Ugh. As annoyed as I am with the Wilfs getting every little thing they want.... naming the station this makes the most sense. Colloquially, this will be referred to as "the stadium" stop. Examples of stuff I hear; "Go downtown and transfer at the stadium" "Get off at the sta...

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site
The gradual decline (Which seems to have reached tipping point) of the 90s is relevent because every hotel room looking out over hennepin will be facing a building in disrepair. With LaFemme out of the picture, the 90s is no longer going to be financially viable, meaning this hotel may have a new ne...

Re: T3 - Hines Dock Street Office Project
I bike through there every day and it's getting progressively worse. The fissue is deeper and the elevation between sides is now noticibly different. It feels like the T3 side is pulling away and sinking. The most notavble difference has been in the last two days.

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
I'm beginning to get really curious as to what will end up on the north side of the west tower. With the hotel going in the spot to the east, it would make sense that they would stick with their original plan for residential, but it doesn't seem to be part of 'The Edition'. Every mention of The Edit...

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site
Does the general population think that actual gay people run the 90s? I hope people know that it's owned and operated by the same guys that run Deja Vu and a bunch of other tacky establishments. At this point, they're giving us a bad name by having the most recognizable gay bar in the city also be t...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
Looks as though they've scrapped the set aggregate surfacing material. I am glad. The test patch at Hennepin and 4th is a mess. Scraped up and dusty and crumbling. Not tough enough for our winters.

Re: Hampton Inn & Suites - (19 8th Street North)
They can try to convince us that "It's not like what you would see in the suburbs' all they want, but one look at those pictures... Holy holly hobby cheesy tchotchke. It's not my taste. But it sure is my mom's! ...and she lives in the suburbs. Whatever. I'll probably never set foot in the place...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
The portions of the finished exterior (The eave above the eastern entrance and the small patch on the northeast side) are less than impressive. It looks like aluminum siding, complete with buckling and uneven seam work. I am hoping for the best here and that it looks better than the shed in my back ...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
Walking down Nicollet last night around 5:30 I was surprised to see how many people were hanging out, up to no good. Hotboxing the enclosed bus stop in front of Xcel, teenage boys harassing a woman, grown men yelling profanities at each other, two women getting into a screaming match in front of Cit...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
Wells Fargo wrote in a stipulation that all construction would be done before workers moved in. We can expect the north sides of these blocks to reach completion when the towers do. Apartments on the west block (if they still go that route) and a hotel on the east will make for a great mix. This is ...

Re: Thresher Square Hotel & Washington/Chicago Apartments
super bummed about the skyway. I work right across Washington and it would be awesome to have an indoor connection from the mill district to the rest of the city. I also thought the grocery store was only interested if there was a connection? I'm afraid this doesn't bode well for the parking garage ...

Re: Nic on Fifth - (290' - 26 Stories)
Eight or nine dudes in suits walking around in the ground floor retail space this morning. They had all the lights on and it was amazing how different the corner of 5th and Marq looked with it lit up. It'll be a huge improvement once something goes in there. Fingers crossed that they were liking wha...

Check out that map... I'm dying to know what they mean by "North Loop Green - Future Phase" in the space between this and the baseball stadium. Please please please be a housing TOWER.

Rollerdome will be back. So will running clubs in the winter. So will Monster truck rallies and high school sports and cultural events and trade shows and tons of new stuff we haven't even thought of yet. Out of more than 300 event days per year at the Metrodome, less than 100 featured professional ...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
Well Fargo has mandated that all construction be complete before employees move into the building. Everything is being scheduled out to be completed at the same time and that includes the residential portions.

That makes more sense. I bet the white ones laying on the ground are the final structure pieces, being prepped for raising into place.

Is anyone else surprised the steel is green? I don't remember any color in the renderings. I kinda hate the green. White or natural silver would have been better.

Re: The Marshall - (515 14th Avenue Southeast)
This building is hideous. The colored panels are.. rust? yellow? orange? It's going to be hard to walk into the Target Express without gagging a little every time.
