Awesome! This interview with David Graham of ESG architects sheds some light on various topics such as stick vs. concrete, massing, unit count, finances, and monotony of recent designs, etc. Definitely worth a read.

Re: Walker Library
Agreed. I appreciate the library in the flesh rather than pictures.. At night time it looks even better!it's simple and sleek and addresses the street well. a lot of the aesthetic of the metal panels is lost in photographs.

Re: Northeast - General Topics
Speed cameras? One thing that could be done right now to help calm the busy streets in Northeast would be enforcing the speed limits. I can tell that it's not being done at all on University Ave.

Re: Stick vs. Concrete Construction
The idea of those wood skyscrapers worry me! Not sure how high up I'd go.. http://i.imgur.com/z6XQ9Js.png Although there's no denying it looks pretty rad. I'm pretty sure most buildings will be using things like Newark's recycled concrete tubes - It seems authorities are approving of much mo...

I thought this too..? Anybody know the facts here?Isn't cement board supposed to be limited to 30% of a building's surface?

Re: The Walkway - (1312 West Lake Street)
Completely agree. Love the area and the vibes from the buildings here!If you want the feeling of how dense and urban Uptown is becoming walk across the 29th street bridges on either Lyndale or Hennepin Ave and look out at all the new apartments along the Midtown Greenway. Very impressive.
