Re: Major League Soccer Stadium in Minneapolis
I do like the idea of a large roundabout there, but I wonder if the proximity to the HERC and the Metro Transit Bus garage is why its not well regarded. Having a lot of large vehicles weaving around a tight(ish) turn might have implications not desired by the county. *That said, it is an awful inter...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)
Does anyone know what the 'proper train spacing' is? Like, if you're on a westbound/northbound train, and you come to a stop at the junction, are you just waiting for the train in front to clear Downtown East station, or for it to get all the way to Government Plaza station? The proper train spacin...

Re: Minneapolis Streetcar System
Have the people presenting street cars to the metro council ever seen a city with street cars? Im not talking about reading a few reports about Portland but actually walked around Toronto or all the cities in Europe you hear of local official touring to see their transit "choo choo's," the...

Re: Minneapolis Streetcar System
Judging by the disinterest of a few of the commissioners (one man making funny faces swiveling in his chair and the other more interested in her cell phone than the person talking) I became distracted in the fact that they were distracted and couldn't fully follow along. Too bad, we're probably doom...

Re: Wine
I went to the winery in Stillwater next to the coop. I thought they had good reds, and they let me sample before I bought. They also have a really nice deck that overlooks the St. Croix! If your looking to buy local, I know Thomas liquors in St Paul is a good place to go and so is Zipps on Franklin ...

Here is a good article on wired about the bird safe glass issue. If your like me and would prefer to enjoy your sports without making more of a negative impact towards the natural environment, you can take action on this issue by signing the online petition from the audubon society to the governor b...

Your right, getting a little ahead of myself. Either way, it would be a nice "take that Atlanta!"

Re: Rumors!
The office tower is another architectural beauty with a beautiful crown, there could be modest changes to the crown, either way, the height is between 1025 - 1050 ft. If this happens, it would be the tallest building outside of New York and Chicago in the US. Exciting indeed... http://en.wikipedia....

That sounds like a complaint of the 16! Agreed, the stops at intersections are unacceptable.

Re: Uber(x), Lyft, and Ridesharing.
How difficult is it to call a cab, tell them where you are, wait for them, get in the car, go home? Sounds brilliant to me! I'm sure your upset about a bad experience you've had with a cab company in the past, but it's a tough business, dealing with difficult, often intoxicated people in a dangerous...

Noticed last night that they let cars park in the bike lane on 1st Ave s down between 40th and lake on the weekends. What's up with that? Made me disappointed, upset and confused, all at the same time. Not cool minneapolis.

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
I don't get out into the area between Big Lake and St Cloud very often but when I do, for whatever reason, it seems to be around the time when the Northstar is doing its runs. You can see it backs up freight traffic along hwy 10. All the trains are stopped. I would suspect that the railroad (BNSF I ...

Because Nicollet Mall is a more prestigious street. As far as 1 East 5th St. goes, by my understanding, Hennepin is the origin point for E-W (N-S? Let's go with NW-SE) streets. Addresses on the NW side of Hennepin are XXX Xth St. N, and on the SE side are XXX Xth St. S. So 1 5th St. S would be the ...

Re: Third Wave Coffee Shops
Your right Minneapolisite... The numerous graphic designers in Minneapolis who ARE tied to their corporate offices throughout downtown HATE sitting in coffee shops working on laptops, and all the service industry employees are NEVER hungover on their way to work and they all LOVE Starbucks!... It wo...
