Re: New Third Precinct Station
I was fine with rebuilding the original precinct as it was the cheapest option. If it’s not an option, tear it down and sell it to fund the new location. It’s been 3 years. At least our post office is finally open.

Re: MSP Airport
Today is the 25th anniversary of Icelandair starting service to MSP from Reykjavik/Keflavik. Without them I can't imagine flying to Europe would've been affordable for the Twin Cities, especially when Northwest was still around. I worked at the Hyatt 20 years ago and their flight crews stayed at th...

Anyone know where the other sand bottom swimming pools in Minnesota are? I think there's one at an apartment complex in Eden Prairie, but I don't know if that's one of them since it's not open to the public.

Re: Transit Crime
Having a security presence definitely makes a difference in my experience. From what I understand the idea is that it's a lower cost way to show presence. There's a likely also an element of temporariness - when MT no longer needs them they can end the contract.

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
I've always assumed that St Cloud ridership would be centered around SCSU. Anyone who lives in St Cloud and works in Minneapolis is probably working remotely whenever possible. Agreed, and this is also already happening along Northstar, and is the reason the ridership is so bad. Also, SCSU enrollme...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
It’s disappointing the 23 doesn’t have better frequency. I haven’t needed to ride much lately. But even when I did, the 30 minute frequency was bad. East west routes need to be better.

I remember a friend of mine telling me Alatus was selling this project and the one by the convention center. Wonder what happened to that one? I liked both.

Re: Transit Crime
There just has to be zero tolerance for hard drugs on transit specifically. This is a problem with pretty manageable bounds. Simply remove the ones actively using drugs from the vehicles. Keep doing it until people get the message. I’m assuming that there aren’t enough cops to do this? Riding home ...
