Re: Target Field Station

You mean to tell me the NYC transit system has been using Target Corporate font this whole time? And no one is up in arms about this?

Re: Development process

I think it's more the attending meetings piece that he was saying takes a lot of time, rather than the election piece. But I think you knew that and were being willfully obtuse. Renters did vote well, and voted for Bender and hence by proxy they voted for density. But the neighborhood meetings for d...

I wish the Children's Museum was still located downtown.
The Children's Museum still is located downtown, just in a different downtown.

Re: Trader Joe's in downtown Minneapolis

But the burnsville Walmart has the freshest produce, something you wouldn't understand fmp :)

But yes, looking at google maps there is one in Bloomington directly on the way to Burnsville. The midway one is closest distance wise, but probably not time wise.

Map your routes, destinations, uncomfortable segments and problem spots, and routes you wish existed. Pretty fun tool.

Re: Trader Joe's in downtown Minneapolis

Is that why Aldi only sells left Twix and Pumas while Trader Joe's exclusively sells right Twix and Adidas?

I get the Adidas/Puma German disgruntled brother connection, but I don't get the Twix one. That's a British candy, right?

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I have a 6 mile bike commute, so the distance makes going faster a little more of a time saver. But the main reason I like to go fast is not that I save 10 minutes on my commute each way, it's that I save the 40 minutes that I would be working out. This way my commute doubles as my workout. I was ta...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

helmet advocates imagine an inverse in which there are is an all-powerful anti-helmet lobby about to initiate a citywide helmet sweep and hold a series of helmet burnings. Who is saying that? I don't wear a helmet when I ride a bike because I don't wear a helmet while doing the multitude of other a...

Re: Grocery Stores

Honestly, aside from the 9 locations that were not sold today, this looks like a coordinated effort among the local chains to block Hy-vee from easily grabbing a huge share in this market . Hy-vee already announced their plans to enter the Twin Cities market, with several stores on the way, predomi...

Someone is disgruntled at Amazon, someone is disgruntled at Target, someone is disgruntled everywhere. I think it's a gigantic leap to say that Target won't expand because one former employee got pissy.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I don't take that view, and I don't think I'd qualify myself as a 'helmet advocate.' I'm just surprised that anyone even notices them. I bike to work, on both roads and trails. Thankfully I've never been in a serious accident, but I've had just as many crashes on trails as on roads, and my helmet ce...

Re: Holy Angels Lawn Strip Mall (Nicollet & 66th) - Richfiel

Agreed, my guess is that the 66th St Rainbow gets more traffic than the 60th St Cub. But the Cub may attract more Minneapolis residents (there is a psychological barrier of crossing 62 with many folks). I can attest to that psychological barrier. Also I figure I might as well have my money going ba...

There are three other buyers: "Jerry’s Enterprises, Haug Enterprises and Radermacher Enterprises," according to the MSP Business Journal article. So I took it as they were going to operate those Rainbow stores under the Rainbow name.

Re: Uptown Development Map and General Discussion

The ones that aren't changing names are what I'm curious about. Does Supervalu or Lunds own those, or do they own them in partnership? I'm pretty sure the ones not changing are going to be on the chopping block. The two I know of, Minneapolis Lake Street and St Paul Midway, are both very close to e...

Yeah Bang is good, but I didn't know how far away we wanted to get. It's about a 3/4 mile walk from the station, which certainly isn't bad. And if we opened it up to that distance then all of Dinkytown would be within the East Bank stop as well.

True Stone doesn't serve anything there that I know.
