Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Well from my experience, and this is going to sound stupid. But when I rode the bus to get to the station there was a lot of use of the N word and a ton of people who just put their feet on the seats and didn't respect anything. On the rail, at least the green line, it's for commuters and students a...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
My turn for a story? I got on at about 7 rode it from Nicollet Station to UnDepot. Took about 55 minutes and we were flying once we pulled away from stadium village. I think we hit a lot of lights though between there and downtown. Every time the station was announced we got stopped at the light. Wh...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
Edit: I retract my comment on the streetcars. I said I'd rather they be underground almost like a subway, but if they plan on not having buses then it should stay above. That idealistic, bright sunny picture doesn't show the malodorous latrine-&-diesel grime which has been the most marked charac...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
TcMetro,
I lived in Washington county for 5 years. Let me just say never ever again. There is absolutely no support for transit unless you're in Stillwater. It's just no fun being there, future isn't very bright.

This very well may be one of the ugliest buildings I've seen.
Tiny bit melodramatic

Re: Target Field Station
True this, I took the tour of Target Field (which I highly highly recommend, make sure you get a guy named "spin") and whenever we got outside you could hear every 30 seconds or so the DING DING DING. On a side note when I was on my bike riding to park in at the field I got "honked&qu...

Why.... There is absolutely no point.Bob Tatreau plans to drive from his Woodbury home to St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood Saturday morning to protest the debut of the state's second light-rail service.

I'm just so annoyed by all this. 2 crashes and plenty of bad press from both the strib and mpr.

Well that's absolute sh*t. I nearly got hit there when I had to get to the East side of Eden Prairie fast from uptown. Those luxury cars are hugging the corners like no tomorrow nearly killing me

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
This is true. The further I thought about it, the more stupid I think it is to have Mitchell and Southwest since they're so close. It's literally a 1 minute drive between the two. I digress

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Both Mitchell and the Smetana would be used. New apartments are going up near Mitchell and it's right next to the Eaton building, City Hall, Water Treatment Plant, and multiple existing town homes and apartments. I agree Smetana would be great, and yes I got very screwed up to whom we were discussin...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
A business model? Are we talking about him worrying about having to lose an entire complex because he claims he wouldn't be able to run the apartments with the line so close? or the lady he brought Edit: I've made a mistake, I thought we were talking about Stewart Nolan who was at last nights meeti...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Yeah, not to hate on this guy but he owns so many apartments and complexes there it sounds like he just doesn't want to risk price reductions of like maybe 100 $ on the apartments rent. He came there with some fancy business woman to prove his point.
