Re: Downtown Riverfront - Mill Ruins Park - Waterworks

but damn it would have been nice to see food trucks lined up along Main Street and at each end of the Stone Arch Bridge.
This also brings into question why there's no convenience store in St. Anthony Main. Rent too high? 7/11 where you at?

Re: California Street Silos

This one sucks though. It's a really good example of Minneapolis prairies that a future development should integrate into, rather than ultimately destroy. You can do this with modular units effectively. Or build taller on one side of the site to meet the density you would meet with the full site.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

1st off, Nicollet needs massive change to become a vibrant and welcoming area again. And I really don't see that coming in a 10,000 sqf restaurant (see Cityworks). Nicollet was on the verge of death before Covid-19. Spaces have been tough to fill for years since the fall of Macy's, Saks Fifth Ave an...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

I welcome the rapture of massive restaurants from Nicollet tbh. If this is how it's going to happen, so be it. It's not like they're going to tear down Nic on Fifth or IDS Center to build a parking lot as a result.

You can zoom into the them for street view! 3d images would be awesome. I loved Google Earth VR, it felt like I was looking a my own miniature globe.

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

The alternative to Broadway and Lyndale N, or at least part of it, would be to dig a short subway from Target Field perhaps to the end of the Broadway crescent when the street straightens out and heads almost due NW. You'd need a TBM to do this, and would have to excavate at least one station at Em...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Was there ever alignment discussion from 7th to Dupont, then onto Broadway? Dupont is somewhat wide, and this 90 degree could possibly work.

Hey can we chill out with this underhanded classist and somewhat racist remarks on the forum? That'd be cool.

Oh absolutely. I think Salmela should do the next iteration. Whether that's with the existing building or not, is yet to be known.

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory

I could see Ryan Companies buying the lot. It would align with their tentative plans of redeveloping that low rise office building that's currently there. Owning Izzy's would secure them a bit more land to work with.
