It's called Move Minnesota and it's led by an amazing advocate named Sam Rockwell.
They can't be everywhere at once though.

I know there were rumors of them trying to get historic landmark status. Not sure where that went.

Neighbor's appeal denied, rezoning approved. Committee vote is 4-0. Goodman and Rainville absent. This goes forward to the next meeting of the full City Council. Housing is just stock, anything can be turned into affordable housing someday, it's better to build something that wait for the best thing, blah blah blah blah.

The 2 way layout on University
I have emails from 8 years ago discussing these changes. It will be 9 years by the time it will be built. Crazy.

4th and 5th would be prime suburban bus routing. Even split between 94 and 394, simple access to 35W, right past City Hall and the Courthouse. Marq/2nd are fantastic for local services since it's even split between Hennepin and Central bridges.

Re: Nicollet Mall
Capacity on Marquette & 2nd won't be a problem for a long time. Metro Transit is planning to cut a lot of the suspended routes as part of the Network Now initiative. Moving Nicollet buses to Marquette & 2nd does put bus riders on the empty office streets away from pretty much all the stores...

Re: Nicollet Mall
Weird idea, but could we maybe remove parking on Marq/2nd and have Northbound buses on Marq and Southbound on 2nd? And maybe make the post office a more prominent terminus/transfer point?

Another McNothing burger argument here. This was specifically done to keep "those people" in the neighborhood from sitting in there. There's no bathrooms, no chairs, no self service station. To say it's just "the way the industry is going" doesn't excuse the intentions. They also...

This thought process would imply that every other country that uses these has a total Armageddon of just burning homes and buildings... which they don't. And yes, they have tall buildings too. Crazy stuff.

I like this idea closer to the light rail and more centrally located to downtown. Now they need to re-do 2nd to be a lot more pedestrian friendly. I'm not sure what's been taking so long, it's really falling apart.
