I saw one on Hennepin downtown a couple weeks ago. Two doors, probably gold if the sun had been out but kind of a gross brown in the overcast light, Florida plates. It did have a driver and a steering wheel, but I couldn't tell if he was actually actively driving.

A lot of moving parts, etc, but it's a little weird that this is happening right as apartment construction seems to be starting again. No downtown towers, of course, but there's a couple midsize buildings that have broken ground in Northeast in the past month or two.

I think the demos (the dumpster building, the portion of the doggie daycare building south of the 16th Ave centerline) matches what was approved back in the day. I think approvals expire after two years but can be extended administratively, so maybe they've just been doing that over and over?

Looks like an apartment building proposal for 1516 Marshall St NE (currently a dumpster service, across the street from Fletchers) was proposed at the Sheridan Neighborhood Org meeting last week, according to their minutes .

I know Fridley was working on a way to remove the station platform but keep the tunnel, and possibly extend it so it ramps up to surface level on each end so they don't have to maintain the elevators. Not sure how that's going, though.

Kind of wonder if they want Big Lake as a place to park and refuel Borealis trains after a stop in Minneapolis and possibly Anoka? Wasn't the original hang-up about ending in Minneapolis that there that there's no fueling / layover infrastructure at the station?

I'm curious what the city is planning to do with their portion, since EPNI was successful in inflicting the water distribution facility on a different historically polluted neighborhood.
