Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
It's not just that it's bad, I could deal with it if it was at a constant level. It's just that over my 4 years of living on Hennepin Ave it's gotten worse and that I won't tolerate in my neighborhood.

Personally I think this is a good idea, but doesn't this get back to our other discussion about frequency vs network coverage?

Re: 419 Washington Ave N - 10 story office
Read the floor plans; 3 levels of below grade parking, and floors 1-3 are all parking as well except for the 2 story restaurant. That's up significantly from 1 floor of parking below and a few on the 1st floor in the back. Oh and the majority of it is public, so it's not even needed for the tenants.

Well this got significantly worse. It's now just mostly a parking ramp.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium
Remember all the talk about the Vikings monopolizing the commons park? Completely overblown. Even the nearest block was wide open for public use Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. Even on Sunday the park and the plaza area was open for everyone to enjoy the programming regardless of whether you ...

Not really surprised after their little audit shenanigans got caught. I'll bet their contract with the city got revoked or their other sponsors left.

Re: 729 Washington Av N
Sure, the vacancy rate is low. Yet that was with no new construction, we've only had conversions so far and most were of far smaller square footage than what this would build. T3 is the first spec office building to be built in the area from scratch, and the result isn't exactly encouraging. 250k sq...

I'm curious why United is even moving forward with this when there is an almost completely finished T3 sitting empty just down the street.

I may be missing something, but where are the windows for the residential units on the parking ramp? All the sides look the same to me.

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
I've heard a billion times about how the poor people need their car because of their jobs in far flung exurbs. And, I don't know, on a first glance that's not wrong perse, but I feel like there needs to be another level to that conversation. Ok, so the two possible solutions to that would likely be...

Yeah the old Met Stadium was paid for by Minneapolis and now Bloomington thinks everyone "owes" them something in return.

I thought the office building would be considerably shorter, like 12 floors, but without a parking podium. At least that's what I remember from the original proposal.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
You all need to realize that the prospect of the metro area going it alone and permanently funding it's own transit infrastructure is terrifying to outstate legislators, and that cuts right across party lines. The thinking is that once the metro can raise the funds on its own to pay for whatever inf...
