Re: State Farm Corporate Campus redevelopment - Woodbury
I don't know why you're so offended, but again I never said any of that stuff didn't happen. What I was saying was it would be great to get together as an outside group and do even more, such as community improvement projects and things of that nature, maybe take it one step further and become a gro...

Re: State Farm Corporate Campus redevelopment - Woodbury
Well then nevermind. I'll give up any hope of trying to get some organized community group together. But yes thank you I'm very well aware of the many roles people play in the community who are on this forum, I never once said no one was doing anything. I just thought a concentrated effort would be ...

Re: State Farm Corporate Campus redevelopment - Woodbury
That wasn't my point. My point is we have a huge collection of people with similar urban values yet we waste it on bickering and fantasy. None of which is necessarily bad, but we have the capability to make real change. We can get involved in community projects, write letters to the editor, endorse ...

Re: State Farm Corporate Campus redevelopment - Woodbury
I just get tired of the us vs. them mentality. And posts like Peter's only exacerbate that problem. People are going to choose to live different places regardless, for many different reasons, there's nothing we can do about that. Honestly what's proposed at this site isn't that great, it could defin...

Re: State Farm Corporate Campus redevelopment - Woodbury
I'm not sure why I bother commenting on this site sometimes... It always turns into the same thing. If it's not uber dense (ie the examples above. downtown mpls or the very best parts cherry picked of st paul) then it is crap. Oh yeah, and it should always be taller. At least 60 floors. You haven't...

Re: Thresher Square Hotel & Apartments - Washington & Chicag
It sounds like they're interested in going after the university students, which makes me think Target Express is unlikely because they just opened a location in Dinkytown, plus its not quiet a grocery store. While it's a little big for Trader Joe's, I could see this being an Aldi (Same parent compan...

So unfortunately this was the only picture I was able to get. Its crummy but at least you get an idea for the size of the crane! Signs around the site say "11 stories arriving 2016"

^ Careful, that's how you get addicted. Next thing you know you'll be up at 3 am trolling obscure Asian development forums looking for a new tower just to catch a buzz.

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image
I watched the whole game (I'm a huge baseball girl) There were some really beautiful shots of the Stone Bridge and some shots of street life on what looked like Hennepin and Nicollet. I've never been a big fan of the blimp shots to begin with because as Twincitizen pointed out they always throw up s...

Looks like Target Center is going to be going after the Women's Final Four, WNBA & NBA All Star Games. This next decade is going to be busy for sports. 2014 MLB All Star Game, 2015 Stanley Cup Finals :D, 2016 PGA, 2017/2018? WNBA All Star Game , 2018 Super Bowl, 2019/2020? Men's Final Four, 2019...

Thanks Avian! I think its nice having the rendering in the thread itself sometimes, that way you don't always need to click on the link. Also in a lot of the threads that are multiple pages long, I like being able to just click on the first page and see the rendering or whatever. This is awesome tho...

ummmm north loop was dead before target field?? this area has been under construction for almost 20 yrs! The stadium did not start development here. cmon tribune. I don't think its fair to say the North Loop was dead before Target Field, but I also wouldn't say there's been no effect since it was c...

So does this count as us losing another Fortune 500 company? Or is it different because the operational HQ is still here?

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Anyone that think there is enough space for a Trader Joe's is smoking some really good stuff. It would be better to put ideas that can actually fit into the space that they have available. Can't get true ideas when all you put forward are pipe dreams that don't fit. The old fitting a square peg in ...

^ Wasn't it in the plans somewhere to build another garage? Now I'm not sure. I would think they would need to though. I grew up in Eden Prairie and my parents still live there. A couple times I stayed at their house during the school year and would take the bus from SW station to campus and that ga...

Re: The Walkway - (1312 West Lake Street)
You can still see the skyline from Stella's. You just need to be on the northwestern corner of the patio. I'd say the best part of this project is how much it has changed the streetscape along Girad. Throughout the evening it was filled with actual people! And they weren't just walking by, lots of t...
