It looks to me like work has started on the World of Beers in the Straus Lofts building.

Awesome! Livening up the south side of Meer's park will really add to the atmosphere of Lowertown. It'd be nice if Lowertown Lofts and/or The Parkside would do something at street level too.

I know it's very far in the future and may never happen, but I'm still curious. Are there any early maps of where this theoretic 894 bypass might be located? I went looking and couldn't find anything.

Expanding on the idea of removing the driving lanes on Girard and converting to a pedestrian walkway... This would be a very good place to put in an elevated crosswalk on Lagoon to calm traffic. I've no idea about practicality, but that's what I'd personally prefer. I think multiple storefronts would make the whole area work better. There's already a glut of restaurants so one fewer isn't going to hurt. More stores might attract more shoppers.
