Interesting way to keep the bathroom stalls at Midtown Global Market free of nefarious activity:

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium
Yeah, but that's of much smaller impact than a "from scratch" stadium. There's no room for NASCAR aside from the old Ford assembly site or the airport if it ever relocates. Hard to see that happening on either site though.Target Center Renovation?

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium
Now that the soccer stadium is imminent, are there any other major sports stadiums that the Twin Cities is lacking? Is this the last major sports project we'll be talking about for at least the next couple decades?

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium
I couldn't agree more. We need to think more about the "Twin Cities" than "Minneapolis vs St Paul".I guess I'm one that finds this location a better outcome for the metro area as a whole.

Re: South Nicollet (Lyndale & Kingfield)
I'm guessing that at this point streetcar is probably a lost cause on Nicollet (south of Lake) but its fun to think about the possible economic impacts it could have had all the way down to 46th St.

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium
It might sound a little crazy, but is it both financially and technically possible to replace the existing station with a station on the south side of University? That would remove all foot traffic destined to and originating from the stadium and new development from needing to cross into the middle...

Is it possible to install a below-grade pedestrian crossing without disturbing traffic or LRT operation?
EDIT: Or, duh, an elevated pedestrian crossing?

Re: Saint Paul Union Depot
Also from the above article: After recategorizing one vacant area as “event space,” the lone remaining space to be leased is a 2,200-square-foot restaurant location overlooking the main concourse. I find it hard to fathom a new restaurant surviving in this space with all of the new competition in Lo...

Re: Southside - General Topics
Speaking of Lyn-Lake, checked out Volstead's this weekend. Very cool place with nice atmosphere. Drinks were very good and the wait staff did a great job. On the negative side, they let way too many people in. It's no fun standing in a crowd of sardines constantly being bumped and spilling drinks. I...

Same here. Despise the financing and everyone who was associated with it but love the architecture itself.
