Re: Gateway Corridor

Anyone else notice this? http://www.twincities.com/localnews/ci_25809013/white-house-gives-gateway-corridor-permitting-fast-track Specifically this part: The White House's recent decision also effectively moves the Gateway Corridor ahead of a proposed west metro project, the Bottineau Transitway, w...

Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)

Did I read that right Bottineau Corridor is on track to be operating by 2019? That mean that Southwest is coming on line in 2019. That would be cool if they both came on line in the same year.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I think it's easier to just keep running 3 car trains than it is to send them back to the maintenance facility for decoupling. Uncoupling can easily be done at Union Station without going into the OMF. They would only uncouple the trains that stay out late. Uncoupling save Metro Transit and your ta...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

Why do the trains only run every hour after 12:30 AM? I think on the weekends they should run every half hour (or more) until the bars close. I often take a train downtown and have to cut the night short, which is usually fine considering I'm becoming an old man. However, this weekend I'm going to ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Looks minor, there is some debris from an automobile in te street and metro transit police and other officials milling around, they seem to be inspecting parts of the train which is stopped over 280 at this time. No sign of any damaged car. This would be the third accident involving LRV in the last...

Re: LRT Disappointments

I tried to transfer the remaining balance onto a GO pass. I was told that in order to do that my pass had to have the full value on it.

Not sure who told you that but try going to a Metro Transit Service Center. Maybe you should give Customer Relations first at 612-373-3333.

Re: Target Field Station

Signs are on the platform. The old platform is Target Field Platform 1 and the new platform is Target Field Platform 2.

It is nice operating into the tail tracks. Still training passengers to exit at Target Field.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Pre-revenue service has not started. Some work still needs to be done. Trains are now running from West Bank to Union Depot thought out the day. When you see train running every ten minutes that is a good sign that Pre-revenue service has started.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Does anyone know when MT is planning to switch their testing to revenue service schedule? I was hoping to see more actions today since they just updated Blue Line schedule last weekend.

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings

Nope. This has been discussed quite a bit. If cost and service disruptions were no concern, it would make sense. The 90 degree turn combined with crossing 23rd is slow as a ride on the future Nicollet street car. (Really slow) Properly relocating the station would likely require rebuilding not only...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Yes, but looking West on Vadalia, there is what I would call a standard train signal with three lights, one being red. Why the change here instead of the bars? Something like this- http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2cfPIanUUn4/UfWfaXYIulI/AAAAAAAAW6M/pyqHIefpcQ0/s1600/PAT_42-Washington-Jct-14N-Clear.jpg I ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I just saw a single train heading through Vadalia. I noticed at that intersection, the signals are red lights versus the white bars. I know nothing about trains, so, why? Speed through the underpass? Train (LRV) operators, operate on bar signals. White vertical bar tells the operator that it is saf...
