Re: MSP Airport

Wondering the same re: Sun Country. Rumor a few months ago was that Southwest could be interested in taking the leases, where possible, and possibly their pilots. Now that SW has reached a potential agreement with its pilots, does that factor in to anything with Sun Country?

Re: MSP Airport

According to Southwest, they fully utilize gates at DAL. Speculation, however, is they are not fully utilizing yet and this allows them to keep Virgin and/or Delta out of "their" gates. I still can't understand what they are attempting to do at MSP when they haven't even added to places su...

Re: MSP Airport

And actually, they eliminated a variety of former AirTran leisure destinations in Florida. TPA, MCO, and maybe RSW if I recall correctly.
Southwest flies those cities seasonally. I flew them to Tampa back in March...completely full.

Re: MSP Airport

I thought that issue was being resolved soon by having Southwest switch over to Lindberg? Southwest is not switching to Terminal 1. Spirit moved to 1, leaving Sun Country & Southwest the two main players at Terminal 2. MAC put the 3-gate expansion on "hold" temporarily while Sun Count...

Re: MSP Airport

Abbreviations are currently being used on Delta's PDF flight timetables. I'm sure the general public is using the online tool on delta.com where you enter a city pair and date to see the schedule. For example, I selected MSP-SFO on March 1st and received 4 flights; a Boeing 757, Boeing 737-900ER, Bo...

Re: MSP Airport

It is great to see the increase in competitive routes out of MSP. It's in the low 40s now for the number of routes served by more than one (Delta) carrier. With Spirit's move to Terminal 1 and the three gate expansion project ongoing, it will be interesting to see how T-2 changes. Do addtional carri...

Re: General Discussion: Chanhassen - Chaska - Carver County

I believe the RR ROW through Chaska has been purchased by Carver County for repurposing as a regional trail, with potential connection or extension of the the MN River Bluffs Trail.

Re: Condition of Minnesota Roads and what to do...

Looking at the Twin Cities Metro District map, I can't seem to make out the color on 494 against the legend for the map. What is being suggested along this corridor?

Re: 2015 MN Legislative Session & Budget

While Carver and Scott counties are on the low end of the seven-county metro population, they are in many studies found to have the highest growth rates, some 25% and higher. Hennepin and Ramsey are showing 5-10% growth 2010-2030 in one study in particular.. Thrive MSP 2040 shows even higher figures...

Re: MSP Airport

I have to imagine T2 will be getting new gates sometime sooner rather than later (at least the extension of H concourse, not the future what-I-imagine-would-be-the J concourse on the south). The new Google satellite view shows the enlarged ramp with gate markings on the ramp all the way up to H16, ...

Re: MSP Airport

Delta has said they want to get rid of the majority of 50 seat CRJ's which almost makes the A and B concourse unusable anymore due to the inability to handle anything larger than a CRJ200. There's still large number of CRJ200's still flying in and out of MSP, just curious if this downward trend of ...

Since this is more of a regional commercial aviation thread than just about MSP Airport... SkyWest Airlines plans to end service between St. Cloud and Chicago on April 6 unless state and local officials come up with a way to make the flights economically feasible. http://www.startribune.com/local/2...

Re: MSP Airport

Speaking of niche European airlines, what do people know about Condor? I've heard basically nothing about them since they started flying here. Condor is returning to MSP in 2015. According to MSP statistics for 2014, Condor carried 9,825 passengers over 46 flights, about 214 per flight and roughly ...

Re: MSP Airport

Does anybody know when MSP will start expanding their gate count? It seems like they are doing a little shuffling with a couple of airlines between the two terminals. It seems like Frontier, Sun Country, Southwest and Spirit would like to expand here but there aren't any gates for them to proceed. ...

Re: MSP Airport

I saw a news story last night on FOX 9 regarding some of the current work being done at MSP. They did mention the 3 gates being added at T-2 and mentioned this was due to growth by Spirit and Sun Country, however, Spirit is moving to T-1 in January. I had mentioned in a previous post about the plan...

Re: MSP Airport

Condors flight schedule is out for next summer and it does show it will be returning next summer.
Yes, it looks like Sundays and Wednesdays this next year. Likely, they will continue their interline agreement with Sun Country.
