For what it’s worth, the Strib image shows a 34 story building. That’s quite a bit more than 25+. Of course much tbd yet…

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
I am not familiar with YardiMatrix as a data source. But, the difficulty of stats like these is that every city's "downtown" has a different definition- impacting how that data may be compiled. Making comparisons between cities pretty difficult. Same with downtown populations... where does...

The packet on the CoW is now missing, so I didn't review it, but couldn't they theoretically just mirror the plan and have the parking entrances off of 14th? It would at least solve the biggest issue and would cost very little in redesign.

That east elevation and the classrooms on that side sure could use a little more glass. Do they not want people looking out and seeing their beautiful library?

Re: North Loop Green - Hines - 350 N 5th St(?) - 35 stories - 393'/418'
By sheer coincidence, the Twins are replacing their scoreboard before the 2023 season. I'm gonna guess there's a 99% chance it significantly if not completely obstructs the view of the field from the new building. The entire project also begs the question of how the Pohlad family let a different de...

10 years is still a little while away, however same location would be perfect since we invested all that transit info structures. Expand the footprint over 7th and 394 if necessary. Would mean better outside space combined with target field and easier connections to A ramp and maybe even B ramp. Ag...

Its interesting that that city seems quite confident that this building: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.9779489,-93.2655771,3a,37.5y,357.84h,98.82t/am=t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sAgY80OpIqdFl4lBBEOr7MQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 doesn't meet any historic preservation standards and should be sold to the highest b...

I'm listening to the piece right now. What would be amazing is to have a way for people to actually hear the score. Possibly a listening pod in Peavy plaza if not in a pocket park on the site. After all, I would assume that was Schmitt Music's original intent- to get people interested in music, list...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - General Topics
Murals in and of themselves can be such a wonderful expression of a community. In addition, they typically mask what is usually an ugly back or side of a building that was never intended to be exposed to public view but often due to demolition of an adjacent building, was inadvertently exposed. I re...

RE: Deluxe- I'm not convinced any of this is good for Minneapolis. A company headquartered here, selling its corporate campus, moving 550+ employees to a leased location; meanwhile in the same week announcing the addition of 700 employees in Atlanta metro where they already have 200 employees. https...

I assume you are moving- either in a vehicle, bike or even walking to give you the shimmering effect. Also, I concur with others that the effect occurs on all buildings north of the stadium. I understand why many people would find the light very invasive, but I like it.

Re: 800 Washington Ave - 14 stories - 173' (Guthrie Ramp liner development: Reloaded)
I really like having something unique from any other project in town. Glad they are trying something new. But a few concerns, as BBMplsMN stated, access via Guthrie ramp could be awful. I used to live in what is now called Bolero Flats across from the Orchestra Hall which has shared ramp access thro...

Sounds like the most logical solution is reuse as office space with decent sized floor plates. Why force something that’s not meant to be?
