Re: Vicinity - 205 Park Avenue (Mill District Ramp Parcel)

Actually, Vicinity is the name of the project at 205 Park.

Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics

Re: the opposition....isn't there a neighborhood plan that outlines what level of development is acceptable, and in which areas? This argument gets tiresome with every new project. Indeed. This site is located in one of the few Activity Centers in Northeast, which guide for high to very high densit...

Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics

Cracks me up that most of those that signed onto this were businesses that could directly benefit from the additional residents in the area. "Don't Uptown Northeast" flyers are going up around the neighborhood urging people to oppose the project, contact Z&P committee members and atte...

Re: 4525 France Ave S

As it turns out, the neighborhood board voted overwhelmingly to approve (or, rather, "not oppose"), despite strong vocal opposition from several people in the audience. There were, however, a few people who spoke in favor - many thanks to those who took the time to attend. I was very impre...

Re: Downtown Parking

If we can't reduce the number of parking spaces, how about reducing the amount of space they take up? The city allows a certain number of compact stalls (3 feet shorter and 6 inches narrower than standard stalls) but the drive aisles are the same dimension, so compact stalls aren't as compact as the...

Re: 4525 France Ave S

Like most people on this forum, I'm first and foremost a development/transit geek so I like to track new developments. But I'm also an architect active in development. I must admit I feel a little awkward using the forum to drum up support for my own project but I think it's suitable in this case. I...

Re: 4525 France Ave S

This is the design we submitted for land use approval: http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www/groups/public/@cped/documents/webcontent/wcms1p-115424.pdf Committee of the Whole was supportive but we're still getting resistance from a few very vocal neighbors (too big, too dense, not affordable enough, etc....

Re: Opus Dinkytown Project - (14th Avenue SE & 5th Street SE

Yes, updates would be great. It's dead last on a long agenda; I'm working a few blocks away. I plan to trot over when they're getting close. I stopped by when it started this morning; the audience was large but not packed - couldn't tell who was there Dinkytown or other business.

Re: Dinkytown

I plan to show up at the City Council meeting at 9:00, August 2, with a few colleagues. We will bring signs (in support of the development). It's sad that volume seems to hold more sway than reason in this instance, but if those are the ground rules, I can play that game, too. I encourage all of you...
