Thanks.
Just hoping arrival of so many vehicles would overwhelm Franklin barn and force progress!

Re: Transit News and Happenings
BBC has an article on 'Hyperloop', supersonic ground transport.
Some are evidently taking it seriously.

With all the vehicles arriving, is Cenral East terminus storage barn going to be used, soon?
When could it be ready as a simple covered parking lot?

Re: Future cars
Our family had our first one, 79 rabbit that my bro literally drove the wheels off of (it wasn't a turbo, just diesel), now they have two VW TD's. Efficiency is insane. The diesel farm trucks get in the low 20's, also remarkable because they're so much heavier than a half ton. EPA did a study using ...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing freight pass Cedar with any frequency- It was my daily running circuit while in the Guard.
North of Cedar, yep.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Politics. Central went thru both Hennepin and Ramsey county, Hiawatha; Hennepin and Dakota, so there was even more cooperation needed. Both these lines hit un debatable 'Winner' locations, so there was no question of the merit. Here we have to fabricate terms (i.e. "Near North") to justify...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
But it shouldn't stop any project when alternatives are either to not do it or ... I've heard concerns echoed here again and again, that the line has questionable value in the first place. The specific alignment is undoubtedly contested! and is even more so now. So tearing down 26 of someones homes...

Sure- And it may be as the TPSSes (Traction Power Substation) that buying rolls of copper to leave hanging, unused, is very expensive.
Any word on if they're doing more underpower testing at the U?

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
Interesting. The 'forcity' uses independant wheels (no common axle) so its über low floorand doesn't squeel around corners. Dunno what model Seattle has (cell phone or I'd google). They seem to custom design vehicles for each city, althogh the Prague forcity had others listed and driver was German. ...

Re: Why not Monorail? and transit / Elephant accidents.
If you're talking articulated busses, why not PRT? Question makes exactly as much sense I shoul've titled thread 'elevated rail', as monorail is just a subset. Every line discussed, planned or built interferes (or can't be built) because of a ground obstacle; Traffic Bike lanes Pedestrians Buildings...

Re: Green Line (Central)
That video, sounded like they were going to do a whole lot of testing on entire line very soon with vehicles.
I was surprised at lack of progress on overhead lines too; they went almost up to Hamline 1.5x weeks ago, but it was just strung up.
didn't go DT St Paul

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
Here's a Skoda video http://www.skoda.cz/en/products/tramcar ... e-tramcar/,
their numbers don't seem to jibe with their spec sheet.
Capacity is immense, it's narrower than a bus and comes with a hot German operator.

Still there. I wonder why they used so course a grinding wheel, or why it wasn't done in stages (course, med fine wheels)? Seems 55 lights might be a little better. I do cheetah flips when there's 100 cars at idle and none using the cross streets. Another question; why were Warehouse and Nicollet sp...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
wow.Don't people in North deserve some support for development?
Like a line that went into density of North, so people didn't have to pile into buses like cattle?
Or how about a token station in an area thats "North" in name only so you can say, loudly, that it does serve North?
