Re: Minnesota Redistricting 2022

I just wish they'd put us Cook County and Lake County "hippies" with the St Louis County shoreline instead of the iron range

Really tired of having my reps being so F$%#!* pro-mining when most of us (at least in Cook) being very pro-BWCAW

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

Considering the construction project has been underway since last summer... Honestly, pushing for a cap between downtown Duluth and Canal Park seems like a better use of effort. It's also much more likely to be transformative. Keep the elevation of Superior St, extend it south, along with relocating...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

Not to mention lowering Hwy 53 to street level would make the hill an even steeper climb. The new interchange is simplifying the ramps and putting I-35 directly on the dirt from what I've seen, so it shouldn't be quite the tangled mess anymore: https://www.dot.state.mn.us/d1/projects/twin-ports-inte...

Always wanted to extend Oak over the rail yards to 18th, then "parkway-ify" 18th north to Stinson

Re: Ayd Mill Road

Here's my idea, free to use: instead of extending AMR north along the Albert St alignment, use Pascal. Raise AMR in intersect Selby OVER the tracks, then continue along Pascal's alignment to 94. Rebuild the Snelling / 94 interchange as a split diamond at Snelling / Pascal, and remove the WB off-ramp...

Re: City Club Apartments - 1000 Marquette Ave (Handicraft Building)

Could the microwaves be the combo convection type? Are they included or is there just a spot for one?

Totally agree on trying to sleep on a pull-out sofa. I'd rather install a hammock.

come to think of it...

Re: Northern Lights Express

Or perhaps we could (as part of a future phase) rebuild the "Skally Line" tracks from North Branch to Hugo / White Bear, re-routing the line south of Hinckley to WBL, where it could then jump over to the existing CP tracks south into the east side of SPUD, then continue via the CP Merriam ...

Re: Gold Line BRT (Gateway Corridor)

My only problem with building a ramp west of the Woodbury Theater is it kills off the opportunity to someday extend the line farther east to the Valley Creek / Radio Dr area. Other than that, I agree that this is a worthwhile project ever since they gave up on the Lake Elmo routing Edit: nevermind, ...

I'm still in for Cheyenne Wyoming. The state is so small, 100,000 new citizens from the tech could probably flip it blue

Re: Midtown Corridor Rail & Lake Street aBRT (B Line)

If we're gonna run an aBRT line west out of downtown St Paul (and we should), Grand / Cleveland / Marshall would make the most sense. It'd be a hell of a fight giving up 4-6 parking spots every few blocks on Grand, but that would hit two major universities as well as leave room for some kind of shar...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project

Some BRT only ramps and guideway from the freeway around Cliff Ave over to Nicollet north of Hwy 13 would be ideal. Avoid the cloverleaf, aim straight south for Heart of the City.

Re: Interstate 94

It'd probably be more realistic to plan on a Gold Line extension down the median, with dedicated ramps directly to the median at 5th/6th St in St Paul and 7th/8th in Minneapolis. Building stops at Snelling and Huron a la 46th St can still be part of the plan

They've updated the article; it now mentions two routes. One from Bloomington to Apple Valley (Red Line) and one in St Paul (A Line I'd presume) By the tone, an A Line type is probably the goal

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project

Regardless of inducing / reducing driving demand, a full traffic 24th St bridge (with the necessarily lowered freeway) would have made a future cap possible. Since we're not gonna rebuild this chunk of freeway for another 50+ years, that's potentially a big mistake
