What's the source on this? Last I heard, the building was set to open next spring. Let's assume April 2017. I'm not sure why Target wouldn't want to open around the same time.Target is planned to open October 2017

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
It appears they are planning a big opening weekend. Starting with Luke Bryan on Friday, then Metallica on Saturday, and a very possible pre-season game on Sunday. A little something for everyone. 3 major events in about 48 hours. Reminds me of the time back in 2006? when the Metrodome hosted the Twi...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
The US Bank Stadium Twitter account has this gem: https://twitter.com/usbankstadium/status/709875910921433088?lang=en Interestingly, Target Center is also making a "major concert announcement" tomorrow morning. So we could be getting 2 big name artists here this year. I guess we'll know i...

Re: Uptown Hotel Discussion
The Arby's plot across the street from the hotel poses an interesting proposition due to its unique and small footprint. It'd be kind of cool to put our own little space needle there. No, not a monolith like Seattle. Maybe just a little taller than the hotel and Buzza Lofts. Something that stands o...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
I never got the appeal of tailgating... But for anyone who does it or has done it, why does it need to happen in a surface lot near the stadium the game is held at? Why can't it just happen at any surface lot outside a bar? With the rise in trick or treating out the trunks of cars in mall or school...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Girard can be super-calmed, but it shouldn't be pedestrian only. It provides access from westbound Lagoon to the Calhoun Square ramp without having to circulate through the already congested Henn-Lake intersection, and provides access from eastbound Lake to the Mozaic ramp without additional circul...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
I wish they would get rid of the lane of parking on the north side of lagoon and make the sidewalk extra wide. Then, take out the entire section of Girard between Lake and Lagoon to make a more continuous pedestrian mall. Getting rid of Girard between Lake and Lagoon is actually a really good idea....

They added a new "Locker Room Cam" today. Shows the interior of the Vikings locker room, a work in progress obviously.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Who else has noticed that the US Bank logo on top of the stadium disappears after it snows? Maybe an occupied building will melt the snow. For now it is a nice reprieve. I've noticed this too. Even without snow, it frosts over some mornings. The stadium is enclosed and heated but I'm guessing they ...

Re: Black Lives Matter, The Police, etc.
This doesn't actually address what I said. I'm pretty sure I actually agreed with "The MoA is without question private property in terms of the law." in that post. What I'm saying, is that it *shouldn't* be treated that way in terms of allowing the curtailing of certain constitutional pro...

Re: Black Lives Matter, The Police, etc.
Also, the claim that MOA is a public space because of subsidies is absolutely crazy. Would BLM be allowed to protest on the field during a Vikings or Twins game? I doubt it That comparison isn't the best, I'd say I'm with trigonal on this one. The MoA defacto functions like a public space, despite ...

Another Lyn-Lake-ish business bites the dust? Reports that Louie's Wine Dive is closed. http://www.citypages.com/restaurants/louies-wine-dive-in-uptown-appears-to-be-closed-7901110 I wish I could make bets on which places were going to close in Uptown. I had a feeling Louie's was going to close soo...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Scena Tavern opens publicly tomorrow after a soft opening this weekend. The name kind of confuses me. Scena is cool name but it's interesting they choose Tavern when it seems to be largely focused on being more of a restaurant than a bar... but whatever. They put their menu online and it looks prett...

What's wrong with purple? I saw the picture, it's really classy modern glass tile. People urinate in disgusting hole in the wall toilets all over and you're concerned grandpa is so insecure in his ability to urinate that some tile will dissuade him? Yikes. I think you're missing my point. I do agre...

The main video board is going up this week and it looks like it could be ready for testing as soon as next week. It's hard to believe we've come as far in this project to the point where the main video board is a week away. On an unrelated note, the Vikings posted a picture comparing the new men's b...

I too have never seen more than 5 people in there at anytime. I don't know how is in charge of managing and marketing that place but they should be fired. The place itself is uninviting and doesn't really stick out of Lime. As far as I can tell, they haven't put any money into any sort of marketing ...

Re: Black Lives Matter, The Police, etc.
Anyone seen this video from a few days ago at the University of Missouri? A student paid by ESPN is taking pictures of the protest when they turn on him and start harassing him. They try to use the same rights they are enjoying to get him to back off. Complete lack of logic. https://www.youtube.com/...

That's 8.4% on your food. My guess would be that the drinks all have the tax included in the sticker price, so the system doesn't charge tax against them. Ah, yeah, that makes sense. FYI, I got an order of the XXL? wings from The Fremont. Mother of god. I like hot but a lick of those will put you i...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Not to keep going on about it but I went again to the Fremont on Saturday. I had a great time, one drink turned into, well... Anyway, my $259.31 tab only had $3.09 in tax. It has to be higher than that, right?
